It seems impossible to find shoes that look like DC court, or athletic skat shoes that aren't made of either leather or suede. Does anyone have any recommendations, a picture of the shoe would be appreciated if you can thanks. Just a brand name will also do nicely.
With all the different brands that are out there, the shoe I was first given or actually purchased for varsity basketball was Converse with canvass uppers they have a variety of colors.
A friend of mine is looking for athletic shoes with large heels to make him look taller, but such a thing is hard to find in men's styles. Could he get away with wearing these, or would people be able to tell he was wearing women's shoes? If so, can you recommend any other options?

They'd make a boy look very effeminate.
We will be doing a ton of walking and I need them to be close to the sturdiness of a good athletic shoe but need them to be open toe. Will spend a little extra money
nike sandals.. the ones with a open heel, almost like thongs but instead of the in between the toe thing it goes over the top of your foot.. very comfortable.. costs like 40$

Nike Air Max shoes are also very popular, as well as New Balance sneakers.
