I have been searching all over the internet and have come up with no answer. My son wears a youth size 7.5 shoe, he is 13. I can not find the right kind of shoes and boots in his size in the store or online. I need to know if there is a way to figure out what a youth size 7.5 shoe would convert into in mens shoes. I can't find this conversion anywhere. Everything I find on measurements shows the mens shoes being too big, even the smallest sizes I can find.
Help! I'm trying to get him a good pair of hiking boots and some sneakers for his Boy Scout campouts and hiking trips.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Use this: http://www.zappos.com/measure.zhtml
Or go to a shoe store and have them measure your son's foot.
Just for Laughs Boy Scout Stealing Shoes
I'm a scout, and I know it's fun... campouts, hiking, biking, camping, climbing, and all that good stuff. Plus it also teaches you those valuable skills and life lessons you can't get or are very hard to get anywhere else. Everyone thinks it's bad because you're a "goody goody two shoes" and you have to wear a uniform. I know it's more than this, and when I speak up in the scout program's defence, they call it BS and all they think about is the service element.
And, just to let some people know who don't know... being bossed around by a troop leader is not what scouts is... the boys themselves run the troop. The scoutmasters are there to basically keep things from getting out of hand. It is NOT something any 5 year old could do.
They're jealous because you're learning and doing things they chose not to. From what you say, it's obvious you really enjoy scouting, and as far as you should be concerned, that makes it cool. I'm sure if the other people tried it to, they would agree and think it's cool too.
In Boy Scouts, we were taught to strip to underwear because any more clothing would make it hard to swim. And why do so many guys wear baggy bathing pants for swimming nowadays?
to remove weight assessesment. they take on water and drag you down...................

cool stories with lots of likable but flawed characters but evolve into dogmatic rules given by one all powerful, perfect god?
Comic books started with Superman, but people got bored of his infinite power and boy scout goody-two-shoes ways, so more interesting and complex characters evolved...
Religion started with fear of natural phenomena and wishing to exercise some sort of control with burnt offerings with the smoke going up to appease the gods in the sky.
What I don't get is that there are plenty of youth groups and community service clubs out there that try to do what we do, but we are singled out as nerds and stuff. Its a great orginization but for some reason it's different, is it the uniform (we don't like them anymore than anyone else )? Is it the goody two shoes image? The whole gay thing?
Why do people hate us so much?
And I'd say that I'm at least stronger than 95% of the people saying these things because of scouting. Which is sorta ironic that the reason they think we are losers or nerds, is also the reason that I am in much better shape than them.
I see your point, but at the same time if I were an parent would not want a man going camping with my daughter. The guy can be a great guy or whatever, but no way would I be ok with it. And also the military has the same thing we do, don't ask don't tell (maybe not he best but it works) .
To the person with the kids that quit:
Yeah cub scouts don't do anything, you have to weather the storm to get to the good stuff. Last year I planned a trip comletley by myself for our troop to Wyoming to go horseback riding, and this year I am helping to plan a trip to Glacier National Park.
Who's "everyone"? My dad's been a scout leader for 30 years and has my support. He has turned many scouts into Eagles and has helped countless people in the community with his volunteer work in this.
Some scout packs do indeed have some bad apples, but those are few compared to the BSA as a whole.
Keep being the best scout you can be and ignore the snide comments.

Friend Friday & Frocking Friday # 2: The Boy Scout's Motto ...
Planned to wear a completely different dress. It wasn’t even from ASOS, or anything. I know! But then I put that dress on, and I looked at myself in the mirror and I thought, “Verily this is the ugliest, most unflattering dress I ever did see!” (Because when I’m on my own, I like to talk like a character in a Shakespeare play, forsooth.) So I changed it for this one. And it’s from ASOS. Yes, AGAIN. Well, have done if I’d wanted to avoid the scenario above. Here’s what else I had to say about being prepared – or not, as the case may be:
1. How do you determine what you will wear that day?If I’m going to be leaving the house, I usually just have a little mental run-through of my wardrobe the night before, right before I fall asleep. Then I usually wake up in the morning and discover that the weather isn’t anything like I thought it was going to be, and I have to start from scratch. Or I find that my dress makes me look like a pregnant woman from the 1960s. (No offence to any pregnant women from the 1960s who happen to be reading this, by the way…) If I don’t have anything planned, though, it just comes down to what I feel like wearing when I get up. Every day’s an adventure, people!
