Boys Dance Shoes

Most of us don't wear socks when dancing in latin dance shoes. I bought my first pair of leather ones and boy do my feet and the shoes smell bad afterward. It doesn't have that effect when I wear any of my other dance or street shoes. My friend mentioned something about leather shoes before so it sounds like a common problem with leather dance shoes in particular. What have you tried? Odor-eaters, powders or does anything else seem to help? (No wise cracks needed, thank you.) Any good advice is welcomed and appreciated.

Use Bunheads Foot balm. Its good for ballet, ballroom, and salsa. It is a hypoallergenic foot balm that dries and eliminates the odor while being comfortable and durable for a dancing shoe. You can find this at ballroomgifts.com, a local dance store, or even in the grocery store. Its about $10.50, lasts a long time, and works great!

totally dance shoes don't let your feet breath like normal shoes plus they get sweaty cuz you work them, make a cute like little joke at it and get her like a pedicure gift card and like sum foot scrub things and like foot creme, she'll think its cute and it makes a great gift and it will help with the foot stench

Do I need to specifically buy boys ones, or are girls ones acceptable? I have been looking on ebay but mostly they say they are girls ones. What do you think?

Any jazz boot or runner or jazz slipper can be used for boys and girls. Another option is to buy foot underwear for jazz. Basically, it goes around you toes and then there is a piece of shoe under the top of the foot that allows you to spin. If you aren't sure if your son is going to continue jazz, these are a good start as they only cost 20 dollars. Jazz slippers are your next best option, running around 60 dollars for a new pair. Jazz boots (which I highly don't recommend) run about 120-150 dollars. However, most dance teachers do not like them as they take away from your pointe and are very clunky.

Be careful where you buy your shoes because he can damage his feet if he isn't using proper shoes. My jazz slippers barely last me 8 months and then I'm ready for a new pair. Also, keep in mind that leather stretches so always buy dance shoes tighter because the will grow.

Hello, a school ball is coming up (like your "prom", but we don't call it that here) and my best friend asked me to go with her. So I need to do a little preparation!

What does it feel like for you girls to be dancing for hours in your "prom shoes"? I asked my friend what she will be wearing and she said 3 inch high sandals (wow, she'll be taller than me O.O).

That must be very uncomfortable, right?

And what can we boys do to help?

Um, short of carrying her because I'm not that strong! I can surprise her with a pair of slippers or something like that though. Will she appreciate that? Anything else I can do to help?

Yep, they're very uncomfortable and hurt a lot! They make your leg muscles feel really tight! The might make the balls of your feet sore too, but I'm used to that because I tiptoe barefoot a lot.

Yes, I guess slippers are nice! Just ask her what colour her dress is so you can get slippers in matching colours. And if you want my two cents, flip-flops do NOT go well with prom dresses. Now, that's just tacky :p

You might want to ask her though. Definitely don't force her to put on the slippers but you can offer them to her when she starts showing signs of fatigue. And if she prefers to be barefoot and forego the slippers, let her.

Someone said to massage her feet, well, if you have to, do it AFTER the dance is over and somewhere else. Or else you two would look really weird :p
