Boys Loafer Shoes

Here's a Lawn-Boy Loafer I just picked up. Probably built in the mid 1960s. It runs pretty good, but I still have a bit of carb cleaning to do ...

I posted this yesterday, but I'm trying to get some more opinions. I'm writing this story about a girl who got hit by a drunk driver, and when I had to write the scene about when she was actually hit it seems very insensitive. The character is naturally flippant and sort of ridiculous, so she sort of makes fun of her own death. I don't want to offend anyone so what do you think:

I guess the driver was pretty drunk; he had to be to hit me. It was daylight and I, in a small act of defiance, was wearing a Day-glo orange shirt that my mother hated (“Sarah, do you have to wear that awful color? Why not a nice pink or beige?”). There I was, just walking to the bus stop, minding my own business when a Rolls Royce Phantom came flying over the curb. The last thought I had was too confused and contained too many inappropriate four-letter words to record here.

I’d like to be all cliché and say I saw my life flash before my eyes (the polka dotted dress I wore in kindergarten, the horrible navy sweater and matching pants my mom forced me to wear in 3rd grade, how I got made fun of for wearing “boy shoes” penny loafers when I was ten….for some reason all my memories are of clothes) but it didn’t happen like that. One minute I was alive and breathing. The next I was sprawled across the road, my blood covering my orange shirt in a poetic macabre way.

I don’t know what happened after that, but I got to watch it later and can describe it pretty well.

It’s kinda cool to watch your own death, but it’s also pretty depressing. By depressing I mean the fact that the Rolls driver sped off, leaving me in the road without telling anyone. It’s stuff like that that makes me lose faith in humanity.

Anyway, I guess I would’ve lain there like some nasty roadkill all day, but some lady came across my dead body and ran over me again. Maybe she thought I was a squirrel or something. My guess is she didn’t even see me, didn’t even know I was there until she heard the four little bumpbumpbumpbumps of her tires on my body. She got out to see what the damage was and was greeted with the sight of my mangled body.

I’m no beauty queen; I can look pretty good when I want to, but after being run over twice in the span of an hour, I was looking a little destroyed, to say the least.

Call me morbid if you want, but I started laughing a little when I watched that lady scream over my dead body. It was not a regular scream, it was a world class, Guinness Book of World Records, bloodcurdling, glass breaking kind of scream. And she held it for a long time too! I didn’t time her or anything, but I’ll bet she just stood there screaming for at least a minute. After the screaming, she started crying, which was pretty understandable, seeing as she had just come face to face with a bloody corpse. When she was done with tears, she started breathing very heavy. Then, finally she came to her senses, pulled out a cell phone, and told 911 what happened in a trembling voice.


Is it insensitive? I'm pretty worried about this...

Not insensitive at all. As long as the rest of your story has the same type of humorous narration, it's all good. Even if you are going for serious it still works, in the way that sitcoms can always make you laugh, but still have that heart-warming sentiment within the threads of the story.

I like your style. I like the clothes comment you made because that's exactly what I was thinking when I read it--some kind of clothes fetish. Haha. You got that Bill Watterson type of charm. (Calvin and Hobbes if you didn't know.)

Keep it up. And keep those bears in check too!

I don't know what to ask for for Christmas as I have everything I need, basically. So, my mum suggested I look for something designer and get that.

I like that idea and wanted a designer pair of shoes, so I was looking at Louis Vuitton and Jimmy Choo etc. but the majority of their men's shoes seem to be formal black loafers for work.

I want something funky with a cool pattern or neat colours. A pair of hi-tops or something.

Do you know a good designer that does this sort of style that would fit an 18 y/o boy?

I wear cute shirts, salmon, pink ect. color, oxford shirts, with cute skinny jeans. Cute shoes, penny loafers, and I have been known to wear Keds with cute seasonal laces (think Valintines day, white laces, with cute pink hearts). And guys seem to be attracted to me as a soft and gentle sissy.

I know some people think the word sissy is offensive, but can a guy wearing cute little white Keds with cute laces with little pink hearts on the laces really call himself a guy. I am a proud sissy and want to date a guy (girls you know, that guy, great pecs and huge biceps, mmmmm). Even the most political correct lady will look at a guy in a pretty pink teddy and say he is still a guy, but girls, come on, is she not laughing inside, and thinking that he will be a very cute "girlfriend" for some guy LOL.

Anyway, girls, why is it that the guys I meet are attracted to me because I am such the girl, I mean, OMG,when I saw the movie How To Loose a Guy in 10 days, and have done some of the things Kate Hudson did or know other girls that have, anyway, it just seems after about 2 weeks, my guy ditchs me because I am too girlie. They love me at first because I am sooo the girl and the relationship is not complicated, but next thing I know, he is breaking up with me because I am "sooo a girl", and if he wanted to date a girl he would be straight.

OMG, I don't get boys.

I'm not sure if I'd date you or not, but I know how you feel. I'm a sissy too but I'm not really gay. I would date a man if he was a sissy, but most normal gay men like a more manly man to date.
