Boys Summer Shoes

What kind of shoes are in style this summer for 12 yr old boys?
I have no idea what's in style for the summer this year for 12 year olds for shoes. Are skater shoes still in? Or is something else popular now? I would like to really surprise my Grandson with a stylish pair. Does anyone have any advice in this or any websites to look at?

The skater (sketchers etc) shoes are still pretty popular here. the low cut shoes- never the high top.

My 13-month old son has only owned 1 pair of shoes so far. We are going this weekend to buy summer shoes for him, and I am a bit confused as of what to buy.

Can I buy a "clog" type shoe, where he doesn't need to wear socks? Or does he need socks because this will be his second pair of shoes and he needs good support?

Help please.

Why don't you buy sandals for summer? Its hot, his feet need to breathe. It is a misconception that socks or something tight on babies' feet will support them, they need flexible shoes.Have you ever wondered why babies seem to walk better when they are barefoot? Because they are learning how to adjust and balance their feet with their body, walking barefoot allows them to feel the surface so there is nothing impeding stability.My daughter wore soft soled shoes until about 18 months when she outgrew them,she LOVED soft soled shoes, they are more comfortable and the closest thing to bare feet..and babies feet can actually have contact w/ the ground so they learn to naturally balance themselves as opposed to clunky shoes where the sole is too thick for baby to adjust his feet to the surface..

Does your son prefer soft or hard soles? Either way Pediped and Robeez have great quality shoes. My daughter had 4 pairs of Pediped Originals and the we switched to Robeez Tredz (toddler).Good Luck!

I noticed there are less boys wearing flip flops, crocs and sandals this year. Last summer and several before it seemed like my son was the only one wearing sneakers and socks during the summer. Is the style fading or have parents had issues with them.

First of all-- Crocs Promote Tartism!!!! As do sandals.

Flip Flops on Boys??? What are you on??
All my sons have Always worn socks and sneakers.

a. both girls and boys wear sandals in the backyard
b. girls wear sandals but boys usually go barefoot
c. boys wear sandals but girls usually go barefoot
d. both usually go barefoot equally

My aunt always told me that girls should wear shoes and boys should go barefoot during summer, but I am wondering if that is old advice now and times have changed. What does your family do?

The rule in my family has always been "Boys go barefoot. Girls wear shoes." That was my grandmother's rule, but it goes back long before her. She'd never have let either of my aunts out of the house without their shoes, but my dad walked barefoot to school every day, and was barefoot everywhere else as well. When he retired he went back to going barefoot everywhere, just like when he was a boy. I've always wanted the same for my own two boys. Neither of them have worn any shoes since the first day of spring, and they won't be wearing any again until late November. As for me: I'm barefoot in the house, and sometimes on the lawn, but I always wear my sandals when we go out anywhere. I never had any girls, but if I had, I'd have wanted them to wear sandals too, unless they'd turned out to be tomboys. I'd never try to stop a tomboy from being a tomboy, or from going barefoot. Barefoot tomboys are part of the tradition too, just not my part.

HELP!! Would like to buy my 13 year old grandson some popular stylish clothing as in t-shirts, jeans, shorts and shoes for the summer. I really don't know whats really stylish these days or even the stores or websites to look in? I would love to give him something that he will actually like. I buy him things and I never see him wear any of it, so I really need some help here with this. Can someone help me please?

Id say brands like Stussy, Adidas, Rusty, Billabong, Jag, Quicksilver, O'neil, Insight, Superdry, Levi, Mossimo, Zoo York, Mooks.
I think if you do a simple t shirt, he's more likely to wear it because if its not his style, he can add other accessories and clothes to make it work with his style. does that make sense?
I think you're best going with a t shirt with a plain colour and a logo or something on the front.
and jeans, probably a straight leg dark denim, as simple as possible.
Theres some pretty awesome shoes out there too,
try Adidas, Nike's and Vans.
