This is what happens when a girl and a boy pick clothes to go out in
Girl: Should i wear red dress? or will it make me look too keen?
What lipstick colour?
Should i have my hair up or down?
What shoes should i wear?
What eye shadow should i put on?
Should i have Eyeliner?
Nails what colour?
Will my dress match my handbag?
I am so confused
Boy: I will just grab my jeans and shirt they have not been washed but who cares a bit of spray will sort it and i wont iron them.
I wont wear and underwear it will just be another obstacle when i take home a girl.
Bit of gel yes that's me done ready to party.
The thing is us men don't care what you look like as long as you deliver the goods.
No woman ever bothers to debate whether to wear eyeliner if they are going out. And I have never got confused about what handbag to use.

My boyfriend is planning to come to England to visit me for my birthday and I want us to go to a club. Problem is he's only just come to terms with the fact that most clubs won't let you in with trainers! Apparently in Denmark it's fine to wear trainers to clubs and he literally only has one pair of shoes, trainers, which he wears everywhere because he is a silly boy.
So now he keeps on asking me what shoes to buy because he is incapable of asking for himself :D and I don't want to pick his bloody shoes so I want to see what other guys wear. Most shoes he's found are expensive so I'm looking for affordable examples. Guys who go clubbing, girls who can advise me, help me! :D
Personally I don't care if he wears six inch black stilleto heels but he isn't so keen on the idea.
We're both students, he seriously can't afford to pay a lot for expensive shoes especially after paying for his flights to England.

I am having to pinch myself when I think about that event.
If I was standing on a river bank and saw a little boy drowning, i don't care what role I might be trying to fulfill, i would take my shoes and socks off and dive in.
Wouldn't you?
They may have radiod for help, but there were two of them!
Am I the only one who cannot get my head round this?
Police officer, fireman, nurse, or ordinary Joe Public, does it matter who you are - surely you dive in? Don't you?
I am very keen to hear from people on this.
well apparently the boy was not in site when they arrived? but is this just a cover story from the police to back each other up?
I agree - i think anyone would have tried to help - i personally cannot swim but if i saw someone in trouble i would try my hardest to help - even if that ment shouting my head off. Perhaps neither of them could swim, and where just thinking of their own safety. Although with two of them there they would have been there to back each other up.
Its really hard to judge when there were no other witnesses and its all to easy to say " well id have done it this way........"
The world is full of ifs buts and maybeas and no matter how many times its gone over that poor family have lost their beautiful child and my heart goes out to them. If i were in their position i too would be feeling angry and looking for answers, but im sure those two community officers are also having to come to terms with what happened and what the outcome may have been if things had been done differently.

Hello!
I'll be applying to University at the start of the next academic year and was wondering if Oxbridge is within my league, or if it will just be a complete waste of one of my four/five applications. I understand that there are far more qualified students than me that will be applying, and of course, I know that just because I might be 'qualified' enough to get into such a University, it doesnt mean I'll get in.
We'll start with my grades from GCSE and my pedicted grades for AS Level.
GCSE:
A*s in History, Physics and ICT.
As in Biology, Chemistry, Maths, English Lit, English Lang, PE.
Bs in Statistics (taken 18months early) and RE (shortcourse).
** I'll be resitting my Maths GCSE come Summer for an A* and if necersary I could persuade my Head of Science to allow me to resit my ISA exams in Biology and Chemistry. (I didnt take the ISA too serious, I did however get A/A* grades throughout the modules).
A/S Levels: These are predictions made by both myself and teachers.
Biology/Chemistry: 'A', and also my teachers will be saying my predicted grade at A Level will be A*.
Phyiscs/Maths: 'A'. Also my Maths teacher especially is hopeful for me to set a good foundation for an A* at A Level this year, but wont be confirming this until my AS Level results have been released.
Although my A Levels might not reflect my results from GCSE, I didnt revise for my GCSEs much at all because of circumstances at the time. But can asure you Im doing mighty good on the mocks and determined to get my predicted grades!
Well, away from my academic qualifications now...
I'm almost guarenteed Head Boy at the latter part of this academic year, being that there are only 2 boys in the school council... Myself and another boy who talks little english and is extremely shy, (you must be on school council to be nominated).
I used to play rugby for my City, but after quite a severe injury to my knee (it went back on itself at a 90 degree angle), I had to have a major operation that, luckily for me allowed me to walk again, but gave me no option but to quit. I know keep myself in good shape up the gym and with light running.
I am also a member of Mensa. I dont go to any of the meetings or anything and basically only done the test because I wanted to see if I could get in... So I might either start going to the meetings or just leave this out of my Personal Statement altogether.
As for myself know...
I like to think Im thoughtful towards others, and will always be happy to help where I can. I have excellent reasoning skills and can make others believe anything I wish to do so (I tend not to abuse this, but rather use it as a joke. For example, Dianna Vickers off the X Factor, she never wore shoes and I made nearly everyone I told believe she had bunions from wearing high heels too often >.<)
I take a keen interest in learning and always want to extend my knowledge. I do not work or hold any voluntary positions (only helping the disadvantaged first years at my school). This isnt because I dont have the time, I just dont want to be bullied into working til late every night like all my friends. I might start up volunteering in the New Year.
As for what I want to study...
I'd like to read Medicine at University. I believe I would enjoy the hard work and challenges involved, and would love to look back in later life knowing I put my scientific interest in something worthwhile that helped people. I have arranged many work experiences for the New Year that I am looking forward too.
Now I understand that even to myself, this all looks good on paper... But nearly every other student applying will have equal A Level grades and could and will have alot more to say.
For example, Duke of Edinburgh Awards; Army Cadetes; Been volunteering for years; A lot better GCSE results; Member of the 'mock' EU meetings (my school couldnt get enough people together for this). And the list goes on.
So I just need another opinion. What do you guys think?
If I dont quite meet the strict criteria, what other 'high end' schools should I try to aim for?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Thanks for reading!
Just looking at other threads in this section, and to show you of things Im worried about... Theres a student who applied to Oxford with 10!A*s GCSE and 4As A Level... and got turned down!
I understand theres more to it than grades, but still....
This ISNT because I dont have the time
for the comment on me not working because I dont have the time.
Funny how your entire comment is based on something I did not say. Read again... I dont work because I dont want to be bullied into working late every day like all my other friends!
I didnt spend 30minutes typing this question up for someone to not read it and then post an invalid comment.
Well, as you already know you do obviously have the academic requirements. Your extracurriculars are also perfectly fine; ignore the person who said that you *needed* to get a job, if you want to study medicine it is much better if you completely focus on getting as much voluntary and work experience in the medical field as possible rather than giving up a big chunk of your life to work in a cafe or shop. Don't leave mensa off your ps by the way, the point of being a member is that you have a high IQ, there really isn't any reason you need for to actually go to the meetings. Mention it but obviously don't dwell on it.
Now, I would say that your profile would definitely be good enough to get an interview, so long as you write an excellent personal statement. The problem is that Oxbridge offer far, far more peope interviews than there are places. I read a quote once from the head of admissions at Oxford; he said that of all the applications they received, about 10% sold themselves - these would be the truly amazing applications whereby the student would be virtually guaranteed a place before even attending an interview. These would need to be either geniuses or have some other kind of incredible achievement, or both. Then around 10-20% are instantly rejected - these would probably have written a very poor personal statement or have much lower than average qualifications, and wouldn't even be invited to interview. The vast majority of applicants apparently fall into a middle category where everyone is similarly qualified and a lot will rely on interview performance and the judgement of the admissions people. I would say that your profile definitely fits into this middle group, which means that, unfortunately, your success or lack of it is likely to come down to little more than luck. I go to a university which has a bit of a reputation for being the place Oxbridge rejects go (I didn't apply, but most people I know there did), and most of them are extremely bright with excellent academics and extracurriculars, they just didn't 'click' with the interviewer or got a question that threw them and that was that. I would say carry on aiming for Oxbridge and definitely apply there, just don't become too obsessed with it, it isn't the be all and end all. All medicine degree providers will be excellent, and a degree in medicine from any university will lead to basically the same career path, it's not like Oxbridge graduates get fast-tracked through the NHS system or anything. As for which other universities to apply to - all medicine degrees are incredibly competitive so I wouldn't limit yourself to just the top ones. If I remember rightly you can only apply to four medicine degree courses out of your five options on ucas because it is so very competitive. Look up the league tables for medicine then go for one Oxbridge, one other top five, one in the middle, and one at the lower end. It would be better to get onto any medicine degree than to only apply for top five universities and end up getting nothing. For now, just keep up the grades and start getting that medical work experience asap. Good luck!
If you like pokemon, I mean you really like pokemon, I mean you cosplay as Mr. Mime and toss poke balls at squirrels, you probably clicked on this question because the words "pokemon", "HeartGold", and "SoulSilver" caught your eye. Well good eye, fellas, I'll bet that in real life you could spot real pokemon and those little ninja trainers in the grass like nobody's business. (and hurry cause those ninjas WILL suffocate in the dirt!). So like you, I've been really exited about the remake of my favorite and possibly your favorite pokemon game from the series: Gold/Silver (screw Crystal, it made no sense, then again, we ARE stuffing animals into extremely tiny capsules and using them to fight one another, but nobody really bats an eyelash at that cause it's Japan). What? You think I was making a "Japan is weird" joke?
Think again:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kantō_regi o…
Anyway, what better way to spend time until the game releases (which will be March 15th) than reminisce about our favorite pokemon moments?
I'll begin with the best part of pokemon that doesn't involve battling or catching pokemon, and that thing is letting a ten year old kid wander around an entire continent unsupervised with no money or food. I mean, it's great and all, but...well... I dont mean to be "that guy" but I'll just say it...WHAT THE F**K IS THAT MOM THINKING!?!? All she says is "I know there's a time when all boys will have to leave the house to go out on their own". Yeah of course, when they're like 17 or 18. NOT TEN! I mean we're talking about letting a ten year old hang out with nobody but wild animals and some creepy old "pokemon professors" (what DOES he do with that starter that neither you nor your rival choose?) And on top of that, what does your loving old Mum give you? Basically nothing! Oh wait, no, I get running shoes A PAIR OF SHOES! Gee, thanks Mom, that's really gonna do better than money or better yet, food, cause there ARE NO FREAKING RESTAURANTS! Not even a Quickie Mart! The kid's probably been drinking Super Potions all this time (which I'd imagine tastes like NyQuil, if not an energy drink).
No wonder you never see your dad in the pokemon games, he probably filed divorce on child endangerment grounds and somehow lost custody of you.
Well at least you can get a place to sleep, since nobody in any of the four pokemon continents ever locks the doors to their homes, and they apparently have no problem with you just barging right in (they even give you free stuff). You know what happens in real life?
*Cloak opens door, overworld theme changes*
Viridian Town Citizen: "Hey wtf r u doin in my house!"
Cloak: "Uh...it was unlocked"
Viridian Town Citizen: DOES THAT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO COME IN!?!?!? WHO RAISED YOU TO THINK THAT WAS OKAY?!?!?
Cloak: "Well my dad left, and my mom is somehow ok with me walking across the continent on my own, and when I was three she said that we were going to play a game, and she took a Weedle and-"
Viridian Town Citizen: "I DONT WANT TO HEAR IT! GET OUTTA MY HOUSE OR YOU'RE GETTING A TAZER!"
Cloak: "Is that some new kind of item?"
Viridian Town Citizen: "GRANBULL SIC 'EM!"
Cloak: AH IM WHITING OUT (what does that even mean?)
On the bright side, there is no chance that they can call the cops on you, cause apparantly there are only two cops in Johto, and they aren't too keen on making arrests, calling backup, or writing tickets (does ANYBODY drive a car in pokemon?, well come to think of it, most towns are about 50 square feet). However, when Team Rocket is running a mafia in Kanto/Johto, nobody stops to call the police. In fact, not even the gate guards really do anything about this.
Guard #1: "Hey did you just let an army Rockets march right by you all the way to Saffron?"
Guard #2: "Yeah, why?"
Guard #1: "No reason, I just thought you would have stopped them."
Guard: #2: "I would have...but I'm just soooo THIRSTY!"
Think this is a one time thing? Team Magma/Aqua were about to flood/burn the ENTIRE CONTINENT and you didn't see ONE COP! All the work was picked up by the gym leaders and you, a ten year old kid. That's like having America send the entire WWE cast and Karate Kid to fight Al Queada.
But surely when the ENTIRE FREAKING UNIVERSE was at stake then there would be an army of Growlithe-wielding S.W.A.T. team officers, right?
Hell. No.
You get one HM from the Pokemon League Champion, a little deus ex machina in the form of your rival bumping into you at Spear Pillar, and nothing else.
Actually, it's worse. To add insult to injury, in Pokemon Platinum, the police only come out after you've taken down Team Galactic just to arrest the remaining top members. Yeah, they had the power to arrest everyone's *** (because when every Grunt attacks you one by one it's not that overwhelming) at any time and they just waited. I don't mean to sound political, but Johto's tax money is definitely going down the
So... what was your question?
Btw, I love Pokemon and I cant wait either, although I STILL haven't completed Platinum :/

I'm from the UK but know that I won't spend the rest of my life here. Although I'm not too keen on America in general (sorry no offence intended) I always thought San Fransisco would be my kind of place. I've heard that it's the gay capital of America, and being a lesbian, this would appeal to me. I've also heard that it's quite a health conscious city and as I'm a vegan this also sounds appealing. I'm the only one out of my friends here in london that doesn't eat meat so it would be nice to be around other like-minded people and go to vegetarian/vegan restaurants rather than being stuck with a boring salad every time I eat at a meat-orientated place. Can anyone tell me if my assumptions of san fransisco are correct? And has anyone got any information on what the gay and veg scene is like out there?
One more thing... is it a very materialistic city? My idea of hell would be somewhere like LA... is SF similar or is it a more down to earth kind of place?
Yes,San Francisco is a more progressive city. The veg scene is great,I don't live in SF but I go there all the time and they have lots of vegan places to eat.I don't know much about the gay scene, but I have heard that Castro(street) is the best place for gays.I would higly recommend it.It is pricey, but I don't think it is as a materialistic place as LA.
