i steal shoes from little boy.

do you think it's bad to buy a little girl boy shoes?

Ok so walmart has a really bad selection of little girls shoes in my opinion, they have an adorable blue pair of nikes that are for boys. Do you think it's wrong toget my 18 month old little girl a pair of shoes that are suppose to be for a boy? I just don't like buying white shoes and that's pretty much all they have for girls

It doesn't matter at that age, or any age.

I still my my girls boys surf shorts. They come in better prints than the typical girly florals and they fit well.

If you don't get hung up on it, she will grow up with a more adventurous sense of style.

moms- Are saddle shoes cute on little boys or what?

I love, love, love saddle shoes, always have. My son has tons, all the way up to like, size 8, and he's only a size four right now. So does anyone else thin that saddle shoes are adorable? Do you have a different favorite shoe?
They are definately for little boys, I bought them at the childrens place in navy blue to go with a suit.
ALso, he's one, its not like I'm putting them on a teenager.

Yes, they are cute on LITTLE boys. (On bigger boys, I think they went out of style a few decades ago. Up to about kindergarten or so, saddle shoes are cute. After that, use your own discretion...with help from your son, I hope! ^_^)

I think tennis shoes (sneakers...they used to be called tennis shoes!) are cute on ANY age...babies up to adults!

Saddle shoes...just remember that most big boys probably wouldn't be caught dead wearing them, these days anyway. (For little boys, they're fine. Or for girls of most ages, probably.)

(P.S. Listen to MT and Fantastica. I think Zorro and Aoibhell forgot that you were talking about a really LITTLE boy. Or, they don't know that saddle shoes, even these days, are still okay for LITTLE boys.) (I don't LOVE saddle shoes, but there are lots of things that are cute on toddler boys and not for older ages. In England, little boys can still, or until very recently could, wear shoes that would look like girls' shoes in America [strap shoes]. Bigger boys, unless they were gay or cross-dressers, could never get away with that [and probably wouldn't stand for it anyway! ^_~].)

Best shoes for little boy learning to walk?

My little boy is learning to walk, and I want to know the best shoes for him to wear. I let him be barefoot at home, but don't want him barefoot in public, its so dirty and he could step on something. I've been having him wear soft soled shoes, but its getting to the point where it rains a lot where I live, and the shoes soak through. What are some good brands?

Another vote for Stride Rite, here.

You can buy a pair of thicker soled shoes for rainy days when the ground is wet, but try not to use them very much, if possible. The other answerer was correct: feeling the ground against their natural soles is the best.

Also, don't worry so much about the shoes getting damp or dirty. If there's a flexible sole on the bottom or he's wearing booties to prevent rocks and things from cutting his feet, and you change his booties once he's back in the stroller so he's not riding around wet, it's not a big deal. Unless there's a cut on his foot, germs don't get absorbed by the skin there. We get sick from germs in our mouths and noses. Kids get dirty!

  • Through the Eyes of a Child

This morning I read Gumbo Lily's post , which led me to Pom Pom's post , which got me thinking about children's books. Why do we love them so? We seem to have reservoirs of memory and emotion, stored up in their pictures alone. So I decided to share with you some of my earliest children's books -- or rather, to share with you the images that fastened themselves to my childish mind, and never let go. I put myself into the little boy's shoes -- what would it be like to open your front door, and greet Jesus on the stoop?  I was also fascinated with the idea that the house belonged to the boy , not his parents (who do not figure in the story). He lets Jesus into his house. (Once again, it's a house.)  Here, Jesus seems barely older than a baby in his simple dress. Everyone loves Little Bear. I don't know what became of the copy we had when I was little.  (The previous 3 books, I've kept for all these years.)  But I was so desperate to own it again -- hm,...
