I have looked up some of the other answers in previous questions with pretty much the same results I have found. I don't like the styles (and price) of Stride Rite shoes, which we started out with. We have been using New Balance and they don't have alot of choice. He is going into a size 10 toddler (he is a big 2 1/2 year old). I found a pair that I like okay, but am looking for more options. Anyone have any suggestions for websites? Links would be appreciated. Thanks!
NBwebexpress has some. The pair I'm considering is $37.99 + tax with free shipping. They don't have alot of choices though. It's not as bad as Stride Rite and they (IMO) are cuter at NB, but that's still pretty expensive. I'm kinda OCD about keeping them in good shape since I don't want to have to buy 2 pair at that price and have a play pair. I got lucky with adjustable strap sandals at Wal-Mart for the summer, but the winter months are going to be a challenge.

I am having the same problem with my son... so I would love to hear what people come up with... we have to buy my 3 year old stride rites as well... and they cost alot!!!!!! ugh....

How come, when a white girl or maybe even boy where's Air Force Ones , J's, or any kinda sneakers besides the usual running shoe like New Balance, etc ..why do people say they're trying to be black?

How come, when a black person wheres Sperrys, Wallabees, Northface, etc why do people say they're trying to be white?

I have a racist cousin , and when she found out my uncle (her dad) was getting a new job as a construction worker, she cried and begged to move in with us. I asked her why couldn't she live with her parents, and she said "because I don't want anyone to know my father is trying to act Mexican" I was like..WTF !!?

I have two pairs of Air Forces, & 1 pair of J's, and she was going through my closet while I was on the computer. Next thing I know, I hear : "Maxine! Oh my freakin gosh! What are you doing with these? We wouldn't want anyone to think you're a wannabe!" and I say "Wannabe what?" and she says "BLACK! These are totally black people's footwear, I'll let you borrow a pair of mine when we go out"
Then she goes to her suitcase and pulls out a pair of Sperry's.

There HAD Mexican, Jamaican, and AFRICAN, flags on my wall,(that I used for a project last year), but she took them down and threw them away, calling them "junk you could be using to wipe the lent off the dresser"

I seriously almost HATE that girl.

Tribalism. It's the scourge of American youth culture at the moment. These are uniforms, really, that serve to identify people as part of one group or another. Did you know, for instance, that the pants-hanging-down style evolved from convicts who were not allowed to wear belts? Poor people who see THAT as status! Beyond the expense (and abusive labor practices) of fashionable kicks -- the hip-hop look for men is getting downright clownlike.

Myself, I won't buy clothes with logos on them. Why pay some ridiculous price for a T-shirt that says "Hollister" or "Abercrombie", and set yourself up as being like a Budweiser walking around? Or, like the tribal message of penguin-pants boys and hot-pants hootchie-mamas, maybe the POINT of logo t-shirts, baseball cap and distressed jeans is to say -- "Yeah, I AM a stupid frat-boy".

my wife suggests to spend it all in a few months:
to buy new tv for kids, ipods and cell phones for the whole family, new sofa, apple laptop, summer and fall shoes for her and the girl, buy her a new ring, earrings for the girl, some dress, baseball kit and ski package; go for a week to hawaii, buy new sport bike, upgrade my car rims, buy her navigation, a bike for a boy, more victoria secret things, send her to curves, use money for weekly massages, etc., etc., etc.;

I say we should put it into our house to pay off some loan balance;

any ideas on that?

You probably should buy a house. Real estate in many markets is down now so is a good time to buy. It is an investment in your future and for many people the only money they have at retirement. The other things will be used and forgotten in no time at all.

Well i was walking home from school (everyone crosses a soccer field to get onto the main road, around 400+ kids) and i was the first in the soccer field, this lady had her pit bull cross something off the leash playing catch, the dog seen me and immediately started running at me from the other side of the field, growling, and when it came up to me it bit my ankle, all the girls started screaming and all the boys were shitting themselves (Im 16, male btw) after it bit my ankle it was going to bite me again so i kicked it in the jaw twice, which then it lost balance so i kicked it in the guts in which it fell over.

While that was happening a group of girls went to get help, and the Owner of this dog was just staring and watching.

The dog got back up really pissed off and bit me again at my leg, i was really angry so i kicked it again but that time my kick was really hard, it stumbled again so i grabbed it by its collar and slammed it on the ground and kicked it again (that time i got it right in the mouth) people were horrified of what happend, and the dog wouldn't get up, it was alive though, the woman who owned the dog finally realised what had happend and came over yelling at me saying "you killed my dog!!! what did he do to you??? LOOK AT HIS TEETH!!! (two of his teeth were stuck in my shoe the rest were broken off) so i started yelling at her back saying it bit me twice and it could of attacked someone who couldn't defend themself, she then started getting angry at me and yelling really loud, so two of my friends who had noticed what had happen came and told her off, she picked up her dog and ran off, she said she will sue me, so i yelled back ill get her back for letting her dog attack me in a public place.

Two minutes after that the police came i told them what had happend, they said i wont get in trouble for it, and once they find her she will probably get fined but i was still horrified, there was dog blood and teeth on my shoes and a splatter of blood on the concrete and grass, (they were new shoes which really pissed me off)

around 80 kids helped me home, and when i got home my parents were like "W.T.F" so everyone told them what happend, so my parents rushed me to the hospital, i got a tetnus shot and some bandages but nothing bad happend, they made a report for me in case i needed it for whatever reason.

So now 3 hours later im shaken up still, my parents and my friends said i did the right thing but i am still shaken.

So did i do the right thing? i didn't want to hurt an animal, i have never even been in a fight! but i just got so angry and i just snapped when it bit me.

All the girls think i did a really good thing and one gave me a kiss on the cheek :D but did i do the right thing?

Oh and does anyone know how to get dog blood off shoes? there new and i dont want to have to get new shoes i like these ones, good sturdy kick.
