Skater Boy Shoes

I have a son, nearly 16, that HATES to shop. I am trying to get him a pair of shoes, last year he got vans, and he likes the style, but wants something different, I have no clue, he likes skater-style shoes, any suggestions, please?

I own converse, but I want to lace them like the skater shoes. How do I do this? I want them to stay on, but I don't want them laced all the way up, I want the tongue to be loose =]

my other question: how will those stay on though, when i walk in them?

What you do is what you see in the picture.. Lace it up so your going over the hole and then back down through it to the other side. But make sure there is no twists in your lace. Lace it up as far up as you want then tuck the laces inside your shoe so that they aren't flopping around one the ground.

Are D.C. Shoes Too boy--ish not girley enough? Are they Skater Shoes?

no they really aren't, as long as you customize them...here's what i mean:
get ones in a feminine color, like pink. then get shoe laces that have a cool desgn on them, or a logo you like, say rubber ducks!

they are girly if you do this, but if you go with the black and white thing, they look like boy's sneakers. etnies are also a little bit more girlier, but DC has some good ones too!!

i love them they are comfortable. oh but if dudes dont like that kind of thing. try jordans or something. i think guys with k-swiss's are hot but basketball shoes work too.
