The original ones were always made by a bootmaker in Northampton called Geo. J Cox. They are still in business and I think they have a web site, so if you put the name into an internet search engine you should get your answer.

in the 80's and 90's we didn't wear 2 inch pins through our privates, that was the next generation. The punk movement, the working class movement, the non-conformity and expression of self was freeing. Doc Martin's are very comfortable boots/shoes, jeans are jeans and t's are t's it was our hair that was sometimes uncomfortable.

my son is about to turn one on the 29th. we are getting him a baby laptop..well its not really a laptop but its a look alike one that has all these buttons for him to push and stuff.
my wife and i work from home a lot. often i put him on my lap and let him see what i'm doing. he loves to try to get at the buttons. so hence the idea. i'm also getting him a toy record player (i have turn tables set up in the other room-and he looooooooooooooooves to watch me mix and play with the records.)

There seem to be a lot of trends from the 50’s being referenced in fashion right now. They say every decade cycles back around at some point, and I suppose with all the stresses of our modern world looking back towards the relative innocence and simplicity of the 50’s is comforting in a way.
Teenage rebelliousness was just starting to come to a head. Kids were adamantly pushing against the status quo, embracing a look and attitude that was highly influenced by the new sounds of rock music and American counterculture – from their icons (Marlon Brando, James Dean) to their hairstyles (I believe it was coined the “Duck Arse”) to their music and fashion (Bill Haley, Johnny Ray, creepers).
The youth culture of 1950’s London was where the Teddy Boy was born. Known for their signature drainpipe trousers and Edwardian jackets, this subculture was considered the first “juvenile delinquents” and while they were a very small movement in terms, their influence carried over into other youth cultures and rebellions well beyond their own time frame and geographic location.
