I have looked up some of the other answers in previous questions with pretty much the same results I have found. I don't like the styles (and price) of Stride Rite shoes, which we started out with. We have been using New Balance and they don't have alot of choice. He is going into a size 10 toddler (he is a big 2 1/2 year old). I found a pair that I like okay, but am looking for more options. Anyone have any suggestions for websites? Links would be appreciated. Thanks!
NBwebexpress has some. The pair I'm considering is $37.99 + tax with free shipping. They don't have alot of choices though. It's not as bad as Stride Rite and they (IMO) are cuter at NB, but that's still pretty expensive. I'm kinda OCD about keeping them in good shape since I don't want to have to buy 2 pair at that price and have a play pair. I got lucky with adjustable strap sandals at Wal-Mart for the summer, but the winter months are going to be a challenge.
I am having the same problem with my son... so I would love to hear what people come up with... we have to buy my 3 year old stride rites as well... and they cost alot!!!!!! ugh....

I used to work at Payless ShoeSource. They have a lot of wide width. They are inexpensive, but good quality. Baby and toddlers aren't in shoes long enough to worry about name brands.

My 17 month old little boy has low arches, wide feet and is pigeon toed I just recently recognized this. His shoes are to small so I need to pick him up new ones. He has a doctors appointment in two weeks but I can't wait that long.. Does anyone know what would be the best shoe type for him, what to look for and please do not tell me to go to stride right i went there today and they do not make special shoes...I would really like to get him air force low top shoes would this be a bad choice?.
DO NOT ANSWER IF YOU REALLY DON'T KNOW OR HAVE ANY CLUE THIS IS MY CHILD'S HEALTH.
I was asking this because I can't get into the doctor asap or i would.. so i was trying to get my son the best shoes I can in the mean time...
The doctor may refer you to an orthotist who may make specially moulded inserts to go in the shoes, to raise his arches, which will tilt the feet outwards. My advice is, make sure they are wide enough and deep enough to accommodate these, which may be a couple of millimetres thick. You could buy foam insoles to fill the gap while you are waiting. Second tip, don't spend too much, in case they turn out not to be suitable. Try not to worry, two of my children have experienced this - at 17 months his feet are very plastic and will respond quickly.
I want to Donate old clothing in my house to the children and people in Africa. I live in Oakland,California and have no idea where there is a place that donates to Africa. I have juniors, Toddlers, girls, Men and boys clothing. Also a couple pair of shoes. The sizes are a wide range. I know people in America need stuff too but the people in Africa are a lot worse off. Anyone know of places in my area?
Thanks. I would really appreciate it.
Planet Aid is a non-profit charitable organization that collects used clothing and resells them to raise money for projects like schools and health awareness programs that include AIDS/HIV prevention. I know this isn't the same as donating your goods directly to needy people. Because there is so much corruption, government mismanagement and waste involved in shipping goods, cash donations through a reputable organization may be the next best way.
If the direct route for donating is something you'd really like to participate in, many Christian Churches have their own Missionary programs established in African countries. They will sometimes ask members for used goods (like old sewing machines and learning/play materials for children); but they mostly ask for cash donations - LOL.
