my little cousin(5 yr old) got a hold of my computer and deleted all of the work I had on my story. The entire file is gone. So now I have to rewrite it. I don't think this is good, but I want a different opinion.
Back-Of-The-Book-Blurb:
Her parents were brutally murdered. She was injured badly. When she awoke from unconsciousness, she was deemed crazy. Celeste Woods is thirteen, and she hears and sees things that nobody else does; she’s delusional. Ever since the night that her parents died, five years ago, she has seen these figments of her imagination, and they won’t leave her alone. When people found out about her figments, she was placed in a residential treatment center. She doesn’t talk in the group meetings, she doesn’t take medicine to make the figments go away, and she doesn’t think that she’s insane. Celeste runs away when it all becomes too much, with her best friend and favorite figment by her side. Not long after she escapes, Celeste uncovers the truth about how her parents died, and who she really is. She learns about special abilities that only people like her have. But, the fun of discovery doesn’t last long. She is being watched by the very person that killed her parents, a Fallen Angel, who is keeping her parents captive. Can Celeste defeat him and save what remains of her parents, only to let them go?
I also have some stuff in Italics, but I don't know how to put it like that on here, if you even can, so I used asterisks.***
*If I were a normal person, I’d be at school right now, sitting in Math class, or maybe doing an experiment in Science. But, I’m not normal. So here I am, sitting in my room at Cinderbrook, staring at the wall, trying to ignore the voices in my head.*
Yes, I said voices. You see, Cinderbrook is a loony bin- full of wack jobs, druggies, cutters, and girls that starve themselves. They think I’m a wack job, but I’m not.
A tapping on my shoulder interrupts my thoughts. When I turn to see who is there, I see nothing, which makes me groan. When it happens again, I sigh. The third time, I press my lips into a tight line, and from then on I just ignore the shoulder-tapping. I walk over to the window and look out, at the amazing view called the parking lot. I look past the cars, at the trees on the hill-- Cinderbrook Hill-- and try to imagine what it would be like to be normal.
I am once again interrupted, this time by a knock on my door. I move to the door, turn the lock-less knob, and open it. I am surprised to actually see someone-- a real person-- standing there. For the past hour they have been playing tricks on me, those annoying figments.
“Celeste, want to come down for a smoke with us, before group?” Autumn asks. She’s a druggie, barely eighteen. She is also one of the people in my group, thought I think we have nothing in common.
“Sure, let me put on my flip-flops.” I run over to my closet, which has no doors, and search for my shoes. They aren’t there. Next, I try under my bed; there they are. Once I step into my lavender-colored flip-flops, I follow Autumn to the balcony. She offers me a cigarette, but I shake my head.
We sit in silence, the smoke from her cigarette swirling around, until Olivia walks out.
“Guys, make sure you say Congrats to Hailey, she’s done!” Olivia practically screams into my ear.
“Wow, really? That was fast. But she could come back, you know.” I murmur.
“Yea, I just hope she keeps gaining weight, and stops losing hair.” Autumn pipes in.
“Same. We don’t want her back, even though I’ll miss her a lot.” Livy says.
“Yes, we all know. Hailey and you both eat little and puke up what you actually swallow.”
It’s silent on the balcony aster I say that. I can hear distant cars zooming by on the highway that separates Cinderbrook from the normal people. Again, I imagine what it would be like to be normal again, to be with a normal family, living in a normal house- talking about something random, like the weather. I don’t belong here.
“Right, Celeste?” I hear someone ask. I look up and see the three girls staring at me, much to my dismay, Hailey has come outside. I don’t like her; she’s both rude and weird.
I have no idea what they just asked me.
“Huh? Sorry, I was thinking about… something.”
“Nevermind, forget it. It’s nothing, anyway.” Hailey spoke, with her stupid nasally voice.
I just sigh and walk away, into the building that is. I trip twice on thin air as I move along the east corridor of the second floor. I walk into the game room, and immediately notice that it is a mess. Since I have nothing better to do, I decide to put use to my hands, and clean up. I start with the checkers games. I sort out the red and black chips into separate piles, and then place twelve of each into the four boxes. I fold up the boards and put them away, too. I continue to tidy up until there is nothing more I can do.
*Celeste…*
I turn around, and look around to make sure nobody else is in the room, before I speak back to the voice
I love it! It's got a lot of potential...cool characters, unexplained happenings, and just enough reality to make the story come to life. I'm sooo sorry your original file got destroyed! Being a writer myself, that's pretty much my worst nightmare. I would recommend transferring your work to a USB port from now on... :)
Hey, while we at this, u mind answering mine? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index; _ylt=Aol3QaRp7bzYujVREpw1sr3sy6IX;_ylv=3 ?qid=20100803213525AAcTnJb

Here it is. This is mine, so PLEASE don't steal it. I'm not telling anyone additional info about this story until a) i have a copyright, and b) i'm more confident. Also, I'm twelve, so don't expect it to be great.
I was, in a word… confused. The girl struck up another conversation with me at school today, and honestly, I don’t know what to make of her. Of course the other students noticed her sudden- well, cling to me- and the usual classless taunting ensued. “Why don’t you give us a kiss, love birds?” A boy would say, “They make sense together, two freaks!” Not that I cared… much.
This was what I was thinking about when I noticed chemical green eyes in front of me. “Gah!” I hollered; /Aster really needs to get some heavier shoes! I can never hear her coming!/ I thought, recovering.
“Hello. Er… I was supposed to inform you that- hurray! Today is the big day. Great, huh?” Well, now I was really confused.
“What… are… you… talking about? Why do you keep following me? Huh?” I yelled, forgetting my place in the very public school court yard. All of a sudden, it was just too much. “Trouble in paradise,” I heard someone whisper. “Oh, come on!” Aster pulled me into the school building. “I suppose I’ll explain now, though the others are going to kill me…” I realized in that moment it was going to be a long day…
well... I don't think I can chose a best answer! You guys are awesome! Thanks a lot, an yeah, it is REALLY confusing if you haven't read the whole book, I suppose. I will now struggle to choose a best answer... No, I'll give it mor time.... I don't know!
