I want to look coordinated with her, but it feels weird for me to wear mostly black too. (although I don't mind wearing black pants and shoes).

What kind of colors (light or dark) would look good ?

Black matches everything so wear whatever color you want.

you would not look emo wearing black converse shoes. I wear black converse hightops and look perfectly fine. it gives every outfit i wear a sort of casual edge to it. Plus, if you like them, then go ahead and wear them!
Everyone who tells you you look "emo" or another stupid comment like that just doesn't have the same taste as you and that's okay. You're being unique by not wearing pink and instead wearing black!

An English grammar question. For example: Ann is the girl "in" the black shoes or "with" the black shoes?

Further, how about "socks"? Shall I use "in" the socks or "with" the socks?

I know if for "a dress", it should be "in a dress"; if for "a hat", it should be "with a hat".

If she is holding the shoes - with.
If she is wearing the shoes - in.

You can avoid all these debates by simply writing "wearing" - Ann is wearing the dress, Ann is wearing the black shoes, Ann is wearing the pink hat.

ok first never wear curdoroy pants..They are very unflattering on everyone. If you dare to go with curdoroy then i would suggest flats anything but heels..Good Luck..
