Is it appropriate for my little 3 year old to want to dress up?

My little girl (going on 4 years old) likes to dress up nice for day care (dresses and skirts with nice shoes). I get a lot of "hand-me-downs" from my sister's daughter and buy from 2nd hand stores - but also buy new things for her. Ironically, she could be classified as a "tom boy" because she is so rough at play. Her friends in her class are usually dressed more casual - in pants, blue jeans, t-shirts, etc. What do you think?

All young children like the "make believe to dress up like Mummy". As long as you don't take it beyond the point of dressing her up to be one of those miniature versions of adults with full makeup and all that, because I don't agree with that idea. Put out a selection of choices of clothes ready on the bed for her to select from, including something "casual". Then let her select which outfit she wants to wear. Make sure she's not dressing up under your influence though, and let her form her own identity as much as possible. Also don't buy those "fashion outfits" such as mini-skirts or high-heeled shoes (which can damage the growth of her feet) which are mini-versions of what teen girls would wear, and she shouldn't need to wear a bra either (also inappropriate). Maybe set the example by dressing down yourself in jeans and t-shirt so she sees Mummy wear clothes like her friends wear and she'll want to follow example soon enough. Hope this helps.

i like to dress as a little girl?

i am a 36 year old man from hull i like to wear little girl dresses frilly knickers and patent leather shoes,if i went to see hull play dressed like this would i get beaten up?
my wife kicked me out after she caught me said i was a perv

Its pretty kinky and I think that you should find someone that will explore it with you. Many normal people have certain fetishes that are seemingly crazy but when you find a way to let out the fantasy of it you will better understand yourself and the reasons for which you do this. I would surmise that it stems from something in your youth. Don't worry my friend it could be worse. Ever heard of scat?

Have you seen the way some little girls are dressing?

What is wrong with those kids parents?! I went to Wal-Mart the other day and there were these two little girls and they were dressed like 40 year old hookers, they must have been around 10 years old though. They were wearing ultra mini jean skirts, high heel shoes, 4 inch long tube tops that didn't cover much, a lot of make up and little purses. When I was that age I use to dress like a little girl. I was just wondering if it's just me who's noticing this? How do the little girls you know dress? Because I'm sure there's still decent little girls out there. What's your opinion on this?
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who thinks this. When I was a little girl (in the 90's) I use to wear long little girl dresses and mary janes and stuff, but not even 3 year olds wear that nowadays. I just wish those little girls parents were as smart as everyone here.

Part of the reason for this is that those are the only clothes out there for little girls. My niece is 9 and I've taken her clothes shopping, and it is not easy to find appropriate for her! I totally agree with you on the point that these children's parents must have a few screws loose, but on the other hand, let's pin some of the blame where it belongs!young girls clothing now is directly modeled after the juniors section, young girls are being told by the Bratz dolls and My Scene Barbie that it's cool to dress like a hoochie, and the videos they see by their favorite artists like Britney Spears,Christina Aguilara, Shakira and Rhiannon are dancing around in clothing like that, they naturally want to emulate them.So let's assign a little blame to the society that these little girls are growing up in that's sending them the message that they'd better hurry up to be a teenager, because that's when they can have their hearts desire.

In our earlier articles we shared ideas for hosting a preschool dress up party. We had been asked if we had any suggestion for older girls. Here are several a lot more suggestions for get together video games, invitations and pursuits for dress up parties for teen women.

When contemplating the celebration invitation, proceed with the dress-up social gathering theme. You and other fashion fans could make your individual invitation by cutting out shapes of shoes and purses. One more suggestion would be to locate a cute dress up celebration invitation, such as the 1 found right here.

Discover enjoyable celebration decor by draping feather boas around the space. You may also place mirrors inside the gown up space so the girls can all obviously see each other when they are placing on their outfits. You and other fashion lovers can borrow the mirrors, or purchase some inexpensive ones for around 5 dollars a piece. An enjoyable centerpiece idea is to tie balloons to the deal with of a cute purse.
