not walking shoes but slip on shoes.... hard to explain like the slip on shoes everyone is wearing right now.
In my opinion, as long as she isn't in the wedding party, and she's not wearing shorts and a tank top (or a bathing suit), she can wear anything else that she wants!

I am not engaged, married, or in a relationship as I'm only 16, but my sister is getting married and I have all this wedding stuff constantly running through my head. Every girl imagines what her wedding will be like, even little girls. Going on a tangent there.
Anyway, I am a ballerina and was wondering what people would think if you wore pointe shoes instead of high heels or something (which I really hate). I thought it would be something that was sort of original and cool. I know that you can buy white pointe shoes from the company Russian Pointe, but most are light light pink and would work if you used pink as a color in your wedding. What do people think of this idea? What would you think if you went to a wedding and the bride was wearing pointe shoes?
Just to clarify, I'm not considering doing this at my sister's wedding . . . that would be weird. Just thinking about when I get married in the future.
I used to take dance classes, and did pointe. But if you want to wear them at your wedding, than what's going to stop you?

I will be getting married next year and i would like to ask the daughters of two of my distant cousins to be my bridesmaids, they are 5 and 7 respectively.
I'm sure their mothers would like it and i know the little girls would like it, i was a bridesmaid for cousins at the same level when i was little.... but what would be the correct etiquette to ask them.
I come from a big family and although i see them at family occasions 3 - 4 times a year, i'm not in 'direct' contact with them, i.e. i don't ring them for a 'chat'..... the family grapevine works wonders!!!
Should i get in contact with the mothers through my mother/grandmother and just ask the mothers if i can meet with them? Then do i ask their permission to ask their little girls?
There won't be any cost involved, i.e. i'll pay for their dresses, shoes etc but obviously there will be some inconvenience to their parents (who would be attending the wedding!)
Have you been in this situation, either as the bride or as the mother of a little girl who has been asked? How did you handle it/would like it to have been handled?
Thanks
...i'm not really distinguishing between bridesmaids and flower girls..... i have 3 adult bridesmaids...i.e. wearing nice frocks, carrying flowers, helping me on the day, going for a night out before hand....the little ones will do the same...except for the boozy night out before of course.....so i'm not really distinguishing between the two...either way flower girl or bridesmaid....the question is the same.....
To Sha...
Please read the question fully before answering....i see my extended family 3 - 4 times per year so i have met these little girls between 15 and 28 times!!!
I also have 3 closer adult bridesmaids....i thought it would be nice for these little girls to be bridemaids just like i enjoyed it when i was little being bridesmaid to their aunts their mothers were to my mother etc etc!!!

You are not honest or blunt, you just don't bother reading!!!
Next year for your wedding? I'd definitely call the moms and then at your next family gathering take them aside and ask them, or write them letters - little kids (at least the ones I know) LOVE to get mail... Of course the 5 year old may need some help with the 'reading' but will still love it and they may feel special because they were a) asked and b) got a letter.

Should I
1. Wear shoes that I already have from another wedding that are terrible uncomfortable and either dance in stocking or socks.
2. Buy cheap flat shoes all day- little nervous about buying flats because I am 5"4 and the heaviest girl in the wedding party. Do I really want to be the shortest too?
3. Buy a really nice expensive pair of new shoes that fit good and feel good. They are $100.00 and just try to wear them again? They are silver which is why I am debating their "usage".

The shoes look like the link- but solid silver and Nordstroms has them on sale for $100.00
What should I do? The bride doesn't care what we wear as long as it's silver. This is my dress

So you won't see the shoes.
Oh, I have a bad foot and I can't do payless :( I have to have a little bit better of a shoe.
Do not wear the uncomfortable pair of shoes. You'll only be miserable.
Those silver shoes that you like: do they come in black, so you'll get more usage? If you really think you'll only wear the silver ones only once, and no one will see another color, I would go with the flats. I'm your height and wore flats to my wedding--was quite comfortable and the shoes were maybe $30.
I found a great yellow dress for a wedding - but I don't know what color to get the shall, shoes and purse in. I can't wear white, any other pastel color will make me look like a little girl, black will make me look like a bumble bee - and I can't wear any dark color - it will stand out too much. I was thinking either cream, beige, khaki - something natural colored looking.. any better suggestions?
Go funky and get a bright colour shoe like fuschia or deep purple shoes. Green can go with yellow.... depends on the shade of yellow. Even red.
If you want to go traditional you can stick to cream, beige and khaki. Those are cool. I agree white and black are boring and don't go well.

What color BM shoes for a Fuchsia and Orange wedding? | Purple ...
My BM dresses are going to be Fuchsia with Orange sashes. I’m DEF wanting them to be knee length or a tiny bit under the knee so shoes will be seen. I thought about doing a cute and casual thing and letting them were a cute pair of flip flops. Its in June of 2010 so it will be hot. I thought it was a cute idea but maybe I’m so wrong! Any suggestions?
