im 16 im mostly interested in a messenger bag for school, ive looked at juicy couture, urban outfitters, lucky brand etc.. maybe im not looking at the right brands. i just moved to southern california, what brands are considered the 'cool' ones so i dont come in with a cheap tacky brand?

The North Face backpacks are great for school...Especially the Jester line. They have them at ebags.com, amazon.com, and places like Dick's Sporting Goods. I just got the grey/pink one. They're around $70, I think....
As for totes to carry books around in between classes, Abercrombie/Hollister/A&F havesome good ones that are big enough. Regular price is $25-40 (depending on the store: A&F or Abercrombie) but on sale you can get them for $25 or less.

Scouts help Food Closet by delivering donations
Boy and Girl scouts started arriving early at the Scout Cabin with cars full of bags and boxes of food collected for the Woodland Food Closet's 14th Annual Season of Caring campaign.
The scouts annually collect food for the Food Closet to begin the fundraising campaign which continues through Christmas.
The Scouts and their younger siblings brought in dozens of plastic bags, donated by Nugget Markets and Food 4 Less, filled with canned and boxed goods.
"This is really helpful for us," said Gaye Nakken, executive director of the Woodland Food Closet. "The donations they collected today will last us through the spring."
The Food Closet itself is just beginning its annual "Season of Caring" campaign with a monetary goal this year of $20,000, the same goal it has made in past years. The Daily Democrat is assisting the Food Closet in its collection efforts this year, as it has in the past, with insertion of a collection envelope in the Tuesday paper.
