Bags At School

No online stores please. =)
I'd like to have a cute bag that I can carry my books in to my classes.

Here are some specific details about a good bag for me.

It has to be able to carry many books without breaking the 1st week, inexpensive, and be available in stores in Canada.

Also, if you're going to post links to specific items, I'd rather not have a backpack. A messenger bag or tote bag would probably be more convenient.

american eagle has cute totes, along with aeropostale and hollister, but those can be expensive. i don't know if you have a Payless Shoe Source in Canada, but if you do, try there, they have really cute totes and and bags. :]

Did you ever wonder why these simple items were used during PT lessons,But do you realise now how important a part of our lives were being observed by teachers?

Yes, I remember. As a trained teacher, I also remember, during training, being told that observing the children during PT/PE lessons was important, because it might reveal physical problems and presumably, although this wasn't mentioned, psychological problems and abuse. For instance children who were frightened of having things thrown at them.
When I was doing teaching practice in an inner city school in Liverpool, UK, my tutor turned up when I had a dance class. I picked out a boy who was not the brightest in the class to repeat his routine for the others. My tutor whispered to me, 'That girl over there is very good.' My whispered reply was, 'Yes, but she's very good at everything.' Later I explained ot my tutor that the girl had turned out to be an 'isolate' when I had carried out a sociometric test. A secret ballot where the children were asked to choose someone from the class they would like to sit next to on a coach trip.
An isolate is someone who has not been chosen by anyone in the class.
And I knew why she hadn't been chosen. Not only was she best in every subject, but her father was a policeman; the father of the other isolate worked for the railway police.
People in Liverpool have a long tradition of not getting too pally with the police!
You're right about hand eye coordination, but as I said, it is also true that teachers were trained ot pick up on other problems.

And what's your school bag style?

I go to a all-girls school in London, so mainly everyone has the Nike Just Do It bags, bags from Primark, oversized handbags and some have these tiny leather bags

My new school bag is a shocking pink metallic mini backpack from Primark!
I like the oversized bags, I mean they look fashionable and you can fit all your stuff.

I think it is stupid to carry those Just Do It bags - it doesn't even fit a standard A4 book...

can the cops check our bag for alcohol while we get our ID to get into our dorm checked?
there really isn't probable cause... just walking into the building with a bag. there is a huge festival going on in my college town this weekend and i heard that cops will be checking bags. i just want to know if they have the power to check our bags when we are going into our dorm even if we arent acting belligerent and drunk?

I am not sure, it is likely that they would still need a warrant. Unless your school policy is that they are allowed to search and you were told that before brought something you should not have with you to school.

If they walk a dog past you and it alerts then they have probable cause to search.

But, even on school grounds you are entitled to the protection of the 4th amendment, against unreasonable search and seizure.

At first I thought you were a high school student, it makes a difference if you are in college, or if you are talking about checking your bags at the enterence to your dorm, not as you walk down the hall.

They probably cannot check at the door to the dorm, but again if it is in your dorm agreement that you have no alcohol, and they are looking for alcohol, they might be ok.

Probably bes t to get the booze there before they set up the check point.
