I'm starting a new lifestyle, I'd like to be healthier than I currently am as far as weight goes. What I need help with is my diet mostly, I don't really enjoy meat but I'm not a vegetarian because I do eat chicken and sometimes beef, just very limited. Also, I don't cook because I start fires :/ I can bake, I just shouldn't cook.
That being said, I know where to get my protein. I eat atkins bars which have 19g of protein in them, and only 1g of sugar. I just started eating breakfast (The only thing I can cook) Oatmeal, and not the instant crap in the little bags, the real oats without sugar. I usually add fresh fruit and some honey, with milk. That keeps me full for a few hours. Someone told me eating fruit won't help me lose weight? I need some help with lunches (That I can bring to school) and dinner. I don't have time during the day to eat, I'm in dental school to be a dentist and I'm at the point where I'm in clinic almost all day, and we get an hour break only once. What kinds of things do you suggest bringing that are filling, but are healthy. Also, some suggestions for dinner? I need to keep my energy up during the day because I'm using so much energy in the clinic (I actually move around I don't just sit) Especially since I'm building more muscle to be able to keep good ergonomics and remain strong through out my career with minimal back injury.
My second question is, What is a good routine at the gym? My favorite is the cycles, but I want to see results quickly so I would like to know the most beneficial workouts that don't require all day at the gym. My time is limited and I can't run outside anymore due to so much snow. I have access to all kinds of equipment. I also do in home toning yoga/Pilate's. It's a 42 minute video.

To answer your question, Tartar or calculus cannot be removed by brushing or flossing, it must be removed through ultrasonic cleaning (Using high sound waves to make a vibration to remove plaque and tartar, also an air abrasion or a manual scaler can be used regardless you must see a dentist/hygienist to remove this, every six months! no slacking! :) Always brush and floss!
Sounds like you have the makings of a good routine there. Since you're a dentist you will have basic understanding of biology and nutrition. High protein is good for muscle development. This compliments your exercise routine. Building core strength is important so pilates based exercises 2-3 time a week is good. If you want to burn off fat you could also incorporate more cardio type exercises, running, cycling 2-3 times a week. use a treadmill if needed. Of if you really wanna be strong, do some kick boxing!
Make sure you have some days off during the week to relax and rebuild and rejuvenate your body. Eat low fat foods, lots of fruit and veg and also eat whole grain breads. I nice hearty sandwich for lunch is always good. Or some pasta and fruit. You have to maintain a reasonable load of carbs to keep you going and to give your body energy to rejuvenate. Eat a small amount of red meat a few times per week for good iron levels.
Edit my question for you! - Is there any way to reverse the process of tartar build up? or will I need to go to the dentist for a scrape?

Children experienced several negative effects, such as muscular-skeletal pain, attributable to mismatched ergonomic factors Research outcomes further revealed that a majority of children carried bags with unhealthy features and they were too heavy according to international standards. Text books and other writing books accounted for more than two thirds of the school bag weight. Bag behaviour was not healthy. Many children reported negative health consequences. It is evident that a 'big health issue' exists in Sri Lankan schools with regard to carriage of school bags. These findings necessitated formulation of feasible solutions with the involvement of major stakeholders.
We adopted three strategies
Dissemination of research findings Provision of feasible solutions AdvocacyResearch findings necessitated identification of priority areas and formulation of feasible solutions to improve the current status. Taking into account, several factors including feasibility of implementation and acceptability by the adolescents and their parents, it was considered that issues related to schoolbags should be a priority area for intervention. When findings and recommended solutions were shared with the Education Ministry for education authorities themselves to find solutions to heavy schoolbag. Education Publication Department Commissioner W M N J Pushpakumara took the lead role. He initiated another research project to be undertaken to explore strategies to lighten the schoolbag. Text books were split in to several volumes. Only page-80 exercise books were recommended. A successful awareness program for bag manufacturers on healthy schoolbag was held. More than 400 manufacturers from all over Sri Lanka on participated at this meeting. Dr. Kapila Jayaratne, described the research background: focusing on burden of the problem, why the ergonomic features are essential to safeguard health of children and what is expected from local manufacturers. Sri Lanka Standards Institute Chamari Geeganage explained physical quality aspects and the process of developing standards on schoolbag. Mr. Tissa Vitana of Ministry of Education elaborated on registration procedure, evaluation of bags by the National Advisory Committee on Schoolbag, the process of awarding logo of the 'healthy schoolbag' and post-market surveillance system for quality assurance.
