Stylish School Bags

Hi, im 16 and looking for a new bag for school.
I want it to be like a "cross-body bag" that goes over my shoulder, but is also big enough to fit a few books in it.
Where can i get nice stylish bags? - online of in the UK.

The stlye you are talking about is called a messenger bag - they are the big versions of cross body handbags. Fred perry do them :) (for £35) but they are leather and last for ages.
As do topshop, asos and many other brands, but stuff like handbags for school are more common so not as many places sell messenger bags as you'd like :/

We have a uniform, so it's up to accessories to make up for the "stylish" part. Also, any ideas for stylish school bags?

don't forget that you can also accessorize with shoes.

have you been watching Gossip Girl? take ideas from that show to vamp up your uniform. maybe your school will allow tights with patterns? when I was in school, we had to wear navy, white, black, or green tights. you can probably get away with footless tights in school.

you have to consider your own personal style though. are you girly? sporty? posters have been recommending hollister and american eagle. while those are great brands, aren't they a little bit cookie cutter? when i was in high school, it was cookie cutter and that's what all the preps wore. if you're girly, anthropologie is great. if you like color and being classic, j crew is great and they have cute accessories. don't feel like you have to wear what everyone else is wearing in order to blend in. who wants to blend?!

make up, be careful, because they might have regulations if you wear too much.

you can also wear fun accessories in your hair.

don't forget about jewlery too.

try to avoid carrying a backpack. not only are they a strain on your shoulders, but messenger bags are way cooler. you can probably find messenger bags in a variety of colors. look at zappos.com for shoes and a selection of handbags from a variety of designers.

anthropologie.com has cute and unusual shoes and jewelry too.

and in regards to your character... in school, just be yourself. but treat everyone with respect. don't change who you are. if people don't like you for any reason, it's their problem. when you are done with school, and having your fabulous adult life, people will probably wish they had been nicer or befriended you sooner.
