I am US citizen living in Seattle. I am going to graduate school in University of British Columbia in Vancouver. May I bring furnitureto school through border.
yes you can. But as with anything, you have to make sure that you have the proper paperwork, and all that stuff filled out. Look into it ahead of time and make sure that all your procedures are taken care of and you will be able to cross with your furniture no problem
The 100-year-old Central Elementary School in the City of Trail was purchased by the Bruce family for $50000. Over a five-year period, they gutted ...
A few days ago my husband confessed to feeling disposable at his job. A job which keeps us where we are. He said "why are we here if we're not enjoying ourselves? Aren't you tired of living for other people?" By other people he meant our families. We relocated here so that we could please our families. Neither of us are happy here. We're just kind of...existing if you know what I mean. Both of our families are abusive, they don't come to visit, they aren't healthy relations and in most cases with the exception of a couple of sincere people, we wouldn't miss them.
Recently, we saved for the purchase of our first house. We put an offer on a house and at the last minute the offer fell through. We were heart-broken. So we have about 13 grand in the bank that was to go to a down payment. We have no lease here, no contracts, no obligations. Nothing.
My husband said "why don't we just move away, find somewhere that will inspire us and give us a better quality of life?!" I immediate dove in and participated. I want to get away too. (We live in Ontario and we have had many negative experiences here).
We decided on going west, on selling most of our furniture and just driving with our small daughter and starting over. We have a couple of friends out that way and wouldn't be completely alone. This sounds like a grand adventure. My husband is certain that he'll find work in the field he went to school for, and I'm pleased at the concept of living in beautiful British Columbia.
But when I woke up this morning I felt sad. I wonder if we're taking something away from our daughter. We intend to give her a better life but it's frightening at the same time. Why does this feel saddening? I almost cried thinking about the furniture, but it's only stuff. The people we are leaving behind have been nothing but hurtful. Granted there are a few people we'll miss but are we supposed to live our lives just for those people? Please I need advice!
Even "good and positive" change, is change...and it's natural for there to be some sadness attached to one phase of your life ending...even while it's exciting to contemplate the future.
It's normal to have these mixed feelings. You moved close to family to connect with them and that hasn't been a good experience. You both had high hopes once upon a time...and by leaving, you're saying good-bye to those hopes and dreams.
So even while embracing new hopes and dreams, it's ok to cry for what won't be.

DEAN: “I grew up in a real small town. It was 17,000. It was actually better known for furniture. It’s the chair capital of the world – Gardner, Massachusetts.”
REPORTER: “From the forums and the debates I’ve gotten the impression that you grew up in a modest home?”
DEAN: “I certainly had a solid family. We had a nice house. My father was a sales manager, but I had the opportunity to work in high school because there were plenty of factory jobs available. I was also able to work when I was in college and law school at a paper mill. Back in the ‘70s that was a really good job to help pay for going to college at Columbia.”
-What's meant by chair capital of the world – Gardner, Massachusetts?
-What's meant by solid family?
I would think that Gardner, MA was well known for manufacturing chairs. A solid family means that he had a stable upbringing, with a father that worked hard to support his family, and parents that got along well.

Hi,
I am studying Forest Operations in the University of British Columbia. I am starting to regret choosing forestry because I realize that I don't like the field work. I want to try to find a job that is in the urban area and not far away in a remote area and forestry jobs seems to be all in remote areas. I chose forestry because my high school teacher made it sound interesting and there are some parts of forestry that requires engineering, which I am interested in. I was going to go into engineering but because I didn't do too well in physics, I decided to choose something else. And I am not interested in science, business, or medical majors. But now I regret choosing to study forestry and I am almost graduating. Can I get a job in the furniture/wood product sector rather than forestry? Is there these kind of jobs available?
What about landscaping or horticulture.

Columbia College Dr. Ruthenberg Dr. Keeney Dr. Brouder | LO ...
Most people consider the Columbia College – Lake of the Ozarks campus in Osage Beach one of the crown jewels in the area. But few know that the project may never have happened except for the audacity and vision of one man: Dr. Donald Ruthenberg, former president of Columbia College in Columbia. And now with foresight and persistence, Dr. Brouder as current Columbia College president and Dr. Keeney as the director of the Lake campus are continuing the legacy and growth.
A little more than 20 years ago, the Lake was just beginning its metamorphosis from a summer destination to the year-round vibrant community it is now. Back then, there were two major resorts anchoring the area, Tan-Tar-A and The Lodge of Four Seasons . A newly opened outlet mall held great expectations for future growth, and a small hospital was in the midst of a growth spurt. The local Rotary Club conducted a survey concerning infrastructure in the area. They found that with only 26 percent of local high school graduates continuing on to higher education, there was a great need for an area college. Dr. Donald Ruthenberg was approached by Al Fish, Executive Director of the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, who asked for his help. “No one at the Lake knew how to take it to the next level,” says Ruthenberg, who was president of Columbia College at the time. The first concern was the “supposed” dearth of professors living at the Lake with the proper credentials to teach at the college level.
