I am currently doing my master degree in architecture, but I have always wanted to do furniture design, but found it to be a risky field to get a job (that's the reason I am doing architecture). What are some good schools to do furniture design? I have heard there are some company+school that let you work there at the same time you study, is it true and where are they?

All the schools I've ever found for furniture design ar eon the East coast. Any on the West coast you know of?
Furniture isn't a very big industry here on the West Coast. After all, North Carolina is the furniture capital of America. You might look into Design majors, which could have an emphasis in Industrial Design.

I don't know if you have a store called Micheals there or not..if not, a local craft/hobby store will have what you are looking for.
Try to go to school part time. I assume you want to go to school
to study furniture design? Another option may be
to get a job in a shop that makes furniture. Become an
apprentice. Often this means doing more mundane
chores the cabinet maker or furniture makes doesn't
want to do, like sanding. but if you show a knack
for learning and some skill you can move up. Get real
good and you can start your own shop.

The perception and celebration of art is spreading like wildfire. People are expressing themselves and appreciating materials, not only as necessities but as works of art, in a medium known as “fiber art.” Whether it’s a purse designed in fashion school at on extreme or an exotic bamboo chair found at a thrift store, complex in its design yet durable on the other – the medium is far reaching. Fiber art gives us examples of a society becoming creative and independent in style and imagination.
Fiber art is a contradiction, one of the oldest yet most modern forms of art. Take, for instance, the modern wall hangings that evolved from ancient tapestries. Tapestries were used by ancient Egyptians and Incans to wrap their dead; they later became more popular in medieval times as decorative hangings. Not only did they insulate cold castle walls, but the Biblical or battle scenes dispicted also signified social status and power. They hung on the wealthiest walls in Europe between the 14th and 17th centuries.
