▬▬▬▬ Vintage Saturdays - #1 home of Old School RnB ▬▬▬▬ New venue, new faces, 2 rooms + all your fav old school RnB & house music ...
I'm not looking at a complete overhaul or anything just a couple accents to go with it.
I have 2 woodstock posters, 1 vintage anti-nuke poster(framed), 2 pkgs of vintage anti-nuke postage framed, a vintage lamp with a small sun on the...uh..stem?, my own art on canvases(I use muted tones and watercolour or vibrant tones and grotesque imagery), my bedspread is floral and my pillows are paisley, I have a TV on an old vintage school desk with a handmade floral table cloth, an easel, a wooden trunk, a wooden captains bed, a vinyl beanbag chair, 2 wooden bookcases, a record player, floral speakers and a wooden night-stand.
My walls are light purple with dark purple edging(that I hate, I was 11 when I picked it), the carpet is grey, and all my furniture is vintage or handmade wooden stuff(with the exception of my easel).
I want ideas for little details to add? Also I'd like to know where to find Rocky Horror Picture Show decorations/furniture?
Oh! I forgot I have a massive Pink Floyd's The Wall poster.
I am 18 years old, and I have furniture in my bedroom that is worth about $6000, all antiques, decorations are valuable, some very old, it is all up to you. I enjoy antiques, decorations that are nice, religious, or have to do with the environment, such as having flowers on it. It is up to you!

i'm in high school and i decided it's time to redo my room and i plan on spending most of my time doing work there. i already decided to repaint my walls turquoise but what do i do from here? my parents already aggreed to buy my new furniture(but i'm gonna keep my glass desk and white night stand) and bed sheets etc. but i'm not sure which colors will coordinate well with turquoise. my room is semi-big with a closet with sliding mirror doors. things about me (if it helps) : i like dogs, painting, retro/vintage stuff, and tennis. :)
Wait, stop ...
You didn't buy the paint yet, did you?
Choose your bedding FIRST. Then build your room around the colors in your bedding. Turquoise is a gorgeous color but a little goes a long way. A too-bright shade of it on the walls will give you a pounding headache! And like any bright color, you'll get tired of it quickly.
The reason for choosing a fabric element (bedding, curtains, rug, etc.) before wallcolor is that it's a whole lot easier to coordinate paint to fabric than it is to paint the walls and THEN have to find bedding that you love. And sometimes you'll fall in love with bedding that doesn't go at ALL with the wallcolor ... and where does that leave you?
Find your new bedding and go from there. If your new comforter has a pattern or stripe, use the colors in the bedding to guide your color scheme ... those colors will harmonize. THEN you can add 'thematic' elements (dogs, painting, etc.) but it's best not to go too overboard on a 'theme'. Themed elements should be things that you can switch out (a toss pillow, a picture, a candleholder) because you're likely to get tired of those after awhile, too.

alrighty well im 15 years old and i want my room to feel mature and serene with high school and everything, and because i want to be able to grow with it. my room is fairly small so i also need help with the arrangement of my furniture. i already have the picture of audrey hepburn where shes like smoking on my wall. i also have a lot of zebra, black, brown, and white. i have a white down comforter.
i really like miley cyrus's style of bedroom. i was thinking of getting silver pillow shams and bedskirt but cant find that anywhere!
also im getting wood floors and im wondering how you think these would look okay. i personally dont like them but im not sure if i have much of a choice.

any good area rugs?!!
so technically in all that jibba jabba ima asking for much needed decor help!
ohh and heres the arrangement of my furniture!
http://tinypic.com/r/ofa7gk/6
how should i arrange my furniture?! i was thinking of putting my storage crate in my closet for more room!
thank you so much!!
i will definately vote for best answer, def 10pts!
ah sorry forgot about the window!
its a small window right above where the bed is now
Okay, I'm gonna start with the arrangement of the room. I would move the desk to the wall where the night stand is and then center it on the wall as best you can taking into account the door. Put the bed on the wall that the desk and dresser is on, also center that. Put the night stand next to the bed. Put the dresser where the bed is now and the storage crate in the closet if it will fit. I am guessing that your night stand isn't really that big. I think that it would be more symmetrical if you got another night stand so that you could have one on each side of the bed.
I think that the floors will be perfect.
Here is a pic of a room that has the same inspiration as you want that I think you could get some great ideas from. I realize that it is a bathroom, but the colors and the collage with the gloves would be great additions as would some of their accessories like the ring.

I would paint the walls or one of them the turquoise color (you could use cream for the others)and then use black and white for the other colors in the room. A zebra print rug would be a nice addition. A couple of these type of lamps would complete the look, in the aqua color http://www4.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?Dep tID=67787&CatID=68157&GrpTyp=STY &ItemID=1429149&attrtype=&at trvalue=&CMID=67787%7c67999&Fltr =&Srt=&QL=F&IND=9&cmVirt ualCat=&CmCatId=67787|67999|68157
Then you can have fun adding all the personal touches.
i'm getting tired of the usual jeans and t-shirts look, considering i wear it every single day! and i plan on throwing out all my clothes that have holes, are too worn to wear, are falling apart, and clothes that don't fit me
i plan on getting cardigans, sweaters, hoodies, some skinny jeans (colorful and reg.), a really vintage looking tote for school, bracelets, necklaces, and other cute accessories, some fancy clothes (like dresses, blazers, dress pants) for more formal events, a casual dress/tunic, a lot of flats in different colors, a lot of basics, 2 belts, and heels, and a few graphic tees
would these be the basic wardrobe necessities?
i plan on building it little by little over the year..
oh and i'm also getting by bedroom repainted, and i'm buying some bedding and furniture to create a vintage modern look. would that be cute?
Yea that wardrobe change is perfect. Everything a girl should have =).
The vintage look would be adorable, maybe paint your room a light pale pink or purple. Or a frosty blue. Have fun=)
