How do you set one calendar in Google calendars as a default?

I have a partner page with Google for my high school, Avalon School, and I want to make a calendar on my admin account, so that the schedule i put on the admin's calendar is the default calendar schedule. Does this make sense to anyone?

Yes there is.

There are four types of calendars:

• Personal calendars (the default one you're talking about)

• Public calendars (which others can access on the web)

• Friend's calendars (imported from other people's Google calendar webpages)

&bull & Holiday calendars (add national holidays into a basic calendar)

From the main Google Calendar page, click the + button next to My Calendars. Your first one will automatically be the default, but make sure it is set as a "personal calendar".

Does anyone know anything about high schools?

Where can I find the high school calendar in France for 2006-7?
I thought since the national government controls the lycees (high schools) the calendar would be set nationally and is probably already done. Does anyone know where I can find that information, or any information on schooling in France? I will be teaching english at one next year.
It's in the Nancy/Metz region. I ask because I'd like to fly home for Christmas break to the US and the cheapest plane tickets are bought early.

School board refuses 2 additional days off for Muslim holiday.....?

One woman stated she had been asking the school board to allow 1 day off for the Jewish holidays.

The Muslim woman said there were more Muslim students (48) than Jewish students and that the Muslim religion had more precedence.

School board said NO to both parents citing ending the school year before the start of June was more important.

Hooray for the school board for NOT allowing a religion to interfere with its current policies!

Reg. 16 rejects Muslim
holiday proposal

Prospect (WTNH) - Members of the Region 16 Board of Education have turned down a proposal to add two Muslim holidays to the school calendar.

The idea, which was first proposed by a high school student in the district, was one of the topics debated at a Board of Education meeting Wednesday night.

The plan would have given a day off at the end of Ramadan and the day that ends the observance of the pilgrimage to Mecca. It's estimated that about 6 percent, or about 48 students, in the school district are Muslim.

"Once you open the door and recognize other religions, we do set a precedence for observance of others and we have to fit it into the parameters of the year," said School Superintendent James Agostine.

Some parents said religious holiday or not, it will push the school year farther into the summer. By law, the students have to be in class for 180 days and they do get two days off for religious observance.

"It pushes the school year a lot later into the school year then we are pushing into June," said Rhonda Pellegrino of Prospect. "That's where the problem lies, with the children. Do they want to be at the end of the school year and they have to make those days up somewhere?"

One woman stood up and said while it would be nice to recognize the Muslim holidays, she said for more than 10-years she has been talking to the school trying to get them to honor the Jewish holidays, especially Yom Kippur.

"Addressing the Muslim holidays is opening a can of worms that I don't think the board is able to accommodate," said Ruth Accagnini of Prospect. "For 13 years I have been asking the Region 16 board to consider eliminating a school day for the Yom Kippur holiday.

Student Representative Sara Hughes said there are more Muslim students in her school than Jewish students, so the Muslim holiday should take precedence.

"The days we are in school impact the Muslim students more when they are out on their holidays, because more students have to miss school and more students have to make up the work," said Hughes.

Board of Education chairwoman Priscilla Cretella says she doesn't want to hinder those students who take excused absences for religious holidays and if the system isn't broken there's no need to fix it.

They school shouldn't give them Additional days off. They can go to a private muslim school or a muslim country and they won't have this problem

How do you deal with a spouse who doesn't do their fair share around the house?

I have been married for 17 years. I work from home and my wife works downtown. Because I work from home, over time almost all of the household chores and maintenance have defaulted to me.

Let me explain... I spend twice as much time caring for the kids. I make the 90% of our meals, including weekends. I do 90% of the laundry, 80% of the general cleaning, and 60% of kitchen cleaning/dishes. All of the general maintenance on our house (repairs, painting, mowing, landscaping, etc) also falls on me.

She does take a lead in a few things, such as our social calendar, setting up doctors' appointments, and school issues. But that is about it.

She refuses to see the inequality or uses her job/commute or her health as an excuse. She gets defensive and I look like the bad guy. If she acknowledges the problem at all, it 'gets better' for a week or so, and then back to normal.

Any advice?
First, I am the 'him' (I wondered if someone was going to assume I was the 'her').

Divorce is not an option. I am not going to put my kids through a divorce because I don't like doing laundry.

I am not confident that schedules will work because I have found that life does not run on a schedule. Also, I have to get 'buy in' from her, and I don't think she would commit to a schedule.

I guess I am looking for some thoughts on how to talk to her about this without her getting so d@mn defensive about it.
I also tried just taking care of my 'own' stuff. And in the end, it just feel petty and sophmorish. For example, for awhile, I only did laundry for myself and the kids. I felt and looked like an idiot, it reduced the amount of respect she had for me, not increased it.

Sounds like burnout.Been there ...
Sometimes we take on more than we feel we should have too, then see or significant other in a different light. We start feeling as though we are being used, and in some cases that is true.
You are doing this to yourself more than likely because you care. When we start analizing what we, or they, are doing in the relationship on a percentage basis, are we not actually feeling abused, and becoming angry with our spouse??. At least you've in the past communicated, quote "Said it was better for a short time " means your wife was listening to what you're saying, fighting the guilt within herself. ( Note: last sentence word " was " ). Now she is becoming more defensive when you try communicating these issues with her, and you feel "the bad guy". Did she call you a bad guy ?? or could it be ?-_ _ _ _ _ , fill in the blank spaces and ponder on it awhile. I've a feeling you are smart enough to figure this out .
Feelings run deep within us all. We say things that hurt not realizing. We feel things such as "the bad guy" all comes from this.
Be thankful you're able to perform the tasks you do. What if you could not. Things could always be worse couldn't they. What if your wife went to work never returning. Then you would've 100% of the duties.
Just in case you did not figure the five letter word out, here it is GUILT. You planted the seed of guilt in her, making her feel it for not doing as much as you, then your feeling of guilt from her defensivenees.
Glad to here you say that divorce is out of the question, for it is never the answer in situations as yours. To many people take that easy way out ,don't they?. You know this after 17yrs, of marriage. Its kind of odd for me telling you ,where I made my mistakes.
Hope you both can see, what my wife and I failed to see.

  • Districts reach accord on school calendar « The Medina County ...

LODI — The Medina County School Collaborative Initiative can check one goal off its list: creating a county-wide calendar for school districts in Medina County.

Medina City Schools board member Charlie Freeman said that five of seven school districts in the county — excluding Wadsworth and Black River — reached a consensus on the calendar, which is designed to coordinate programming and initiatives without mismatching vacation days.

“We reached a consensus, but the calendar will have to be adopted by the individual boards (of education) before they can be implemented,” Freeman said.

The calendar will take effect in the 2012-13 school year. Wadsworth likely will adopt the calendar after construction of its high school/community campus is complete in fall 2012.

After the failure of school levies across the county in November, Medina County Schools Superintendent William Koran stressed the importance of schools working together to reduce spending.
