It used to be a pencil, and notebook, and new shoes. Do you remember when? I'm about $195 into it...no batteries or clothes included!!!?
We're not completely done yet. I've spent about $50 so far. My daughter's school had a prepackaged kit you could order at the end of May. We will pick it up tomorrow. It saved me a lot of time. I hate buying supplies. I just have to pick up a few things for my high schooler. I save things from the previous year so that keeps cost down. I haven't bought clothes or shoes yet, wish me luck.... : )

I'm writing a story and my boys are getting ready to go back to school for the fall session. They are wealthy enough to be taking Latin and the other higher subjects, so what school supplies would they need? Also, how would the school classrooms be set up? Would they be like a lecture hall or more like modern classrooms with older desks?

So this year i start high school. They are not giving us a list of school supplies. Any ideas of stuff that i could buy before school to put in my locker? Do you guy'shave anything you always buy to keep in your locker for school? Or just anything your buy for school? I'm thinking about keeping some stuff in the top of my locker in a pencil case like pads, hair bands, maybe a couple bucks? basically and ideas would be great! Thank you:)
I always have a locker shelf to make it easier to keep organized. Be sure to buy one thats tall enough to fit your tallest books and binders.
You may want a small mirror with a magnet on the back to hang on your locker door.
I usually have some extra notebook paper, and supplies i dont use everyday (e.g. markers, colored pencils, scissors) so i don't have to carry them around with me but have them if i need them.
Definatly pads and/or tampons. I usually put them in a small make-up bag so when I take them out of my locker no one knows what it is!
You might want a small brush and hairbands, maybe some lip gloss and concealor (it sucks when you realize, after looking in your handy dandy mirror, that you have a pimple that you didnt cover up!).
At my school theres a pretty strict dress code so I also have an extra shirt incase my outfit is deemed "inappropriate". It's also nice to have if you accidently spill something. If you have a ton of spills or you want to be able to risk short shorts or skirts you could have jeans!
If you're generally cold you could have a light jacket in there.
I get blisters from my shoes all the time so i always have bandaids! I've also put a pair of flip flops in my locker so if my shoes hurt to bad i can change into them!
You could also put some granola bars or some small snack in your locker so if you're starving or forget your lunch you'll have something.
A book is sometimes a good thing to have. During standardized tests sometimes you can only read. Or if you forget to check a book out to get approved for a book report you'll be glad to have it!
If you are in PE or play a sport id have extra gym clothes just in case!
This is sort of an excessive list but just pick the things that you think you'll really need. You dont have to decide right now exactly what you need though--you can always take things home and bring different stuff to school. Seriously, try to pare this list down. Your locker will get so cluttered if you have ALL of this stuff.
I wouldn't buy a whole bunch of locker decorations or little magnents and things. Theyre a waste of money--you won't use them and they'll just be in the way. The locker shelf, the mirror, and maybe one little box or basket to keep loose items in is really all that you need.
As for school supplies your teachers will probably tell you what you need for their classes on the first day! Which is unfortunate because then the stores are crazy, but oh well!
For the first day I would have a binder, a notebook or some loose leaf paper, and some pens and pencils you probably wont use much else so hold off on buying the rest of your supplies until you figure out if your teachers recommend something specific.
If your teachers don't tell you exactly what to buy here are some general guidelines...
A folder with pockets and brads for each elective class. You won't have too many papers to keep organized. But then again it depends on the class so be prepared to be instructed to buy something else or to find out a binder would work better for you.
A binder for each core class with tab dividers (you should be able to find them at office supply stores or walmart. they come in packs of five(ish). if you havent heard of them before they are sheets of plastic with pockets on each side. get the plastic ones...they are a bit more expensive but hold up much much better) I usually have a tab for notes and work and quizzez for the current chapter, one for graded tests, one for graded work (save all of your graded work incase of errors in the grade book), and one for old notes and quizzes. The final tab may very from class to class (e.g experiments for science, reading journal for english you get the idea).
I also have an additional binder with tab dividers (one for each class) to put homework in. This way you can take one binder home instead of all of them. Some years instead of having a current notes, quizzes, and work tab in each binder I just put those tab dividers in one binder and leave the other binders in my locker most of the time. Then after you end a chapter in a class you can just move the old papers into the binder in you locker. It wont work for all of you classes but its nice if it does because then if you have time in a class you can pull out notes or whatever from another class and use the time wisely.
Other than that you need a pack or two of index cards (you may find out you need more), colored pencils, markers, scissors, a glue stick, extra paper, and possibly a small paperback pocket dictionary. Just leave all this in your locker cause you will hardly ever use it. In fact you've probably already got a lot of this from other years so i would just reuse them cause in my case atleast you'll use them once or twice.
At my school everyone carries their backpack with them to each class. Most of the girls use a huge purse. Its nice cause you can have stuff for more than one class to cut down on
Perfect for "Back to School"

I set up the loans so that the money goes straight to the school but they sent me a portion of the loan. Is this supposed to be for living expenses or school supplies? Did they make a mistake?
call your school. whatever you do DON'T spend it before you know what it's for.
This set is basically school supplies, but in the shape of your favorite Pokemon!
This set includes:
Poliwhirl - Tape Measurer
Jigglypuff - Tape dispenser
Pikachu - Stapler
Clefairy - Have no idea -_-
Bulbasaur - Pencil Sharpener
These were sold a long time ago, back when Pokemon was really popular, and by the looks of it, and trying to find them on the internet, are pretty hard to find. :( If anyone has them, (and they are in pretty good condition) I would gladly buy them from you. :D
I think you should search on like ebay, craigslist, and maybe other online stores. You could possibly request them at a manufactor that takes requests as well. That or make them yourself.
