In this story a family is travelling in a car on the overpopulated street to get out of the town they lived in they have to go through this tunnel and they talk about this tunnel as a bad thing and they don't reveal it until the end that it shuts down seven times a week at both ends and when it does it shuts down with cars with people inside and kills them. It is a population control measure that I believe they dubbed elimination without discrimination. I am trying to find out what the name of this story is...I do remember the word "Extros" being use quite a bit but it brings up nothing in google but Dan Simmon's Hyperion which is not the story I am thinking of.
Wow, that's going to be tough finding that. I tried several different ways of searching, but came up with nothing. I even searched "killing people in a tunnel." I'm probably on a government watch-list now.
It almost sounds like something Stephen King would write in a short story, but in addition to searching his prolific output, I've also read most of his stuff and I do not remember reading that particular scenario.
When did you read this story? A date might pin down popular science fiction writers of the day. Also, if it hasn't been so very long ago, perhaps the classroom instructor who gave the assignment might be able to help you.
As a last resort, you could try the research and information desk at your local library. My library offers this: you just call and ask your question and they use all available resources to try and find an answer for you. It's like a live Ask-dot-com.
Good luck.

Okay so this is what I have of school supplies for grade seven, is it all or is there somthing else I should get? Also, i don't need to buy duo-tangs or notebooks or a binder for every subject becuase our school already provides us with that.
*One Big Binder. (For Homework, agend and papers.)
*Markers (The 64 pack!)
*Pencil Crayons (24 pack!)
*Erasers (5 pack!)
*A small Hole puncher I can put in my binder
*Led pencils
*Led
*Lined Paper
*Subject dividers for my binder
*Blank hole-punched Paper (I didn't buy it, i found it in my drawers.)
*One Note Book (for notes and doodles and to write things)
*Wax Crayons
*Scissors
*Mini stapleer + stapels
*Calculator
*Grid Paper
*Geometry Set (the most expensive/best one i can find!)
*Agenda (i like having my own becuase the school ones are confusing.)
*One hole-punched folder (to put in my binder)
*Ruler
*Penciles (wood kind)
Is that all?
and a Highlighter. (2) the earable kind
and guys, i really like having everything i need so i don't have to buy it later, i buy some stuff on sales and stuff like that.
wow you really did a good job, when I get stuff for school, my list isnt nearly that extensive, and I'm a freshman in college!
it just seems so unfair, I got kicked off the only good spot, from where I live (bleachers, a six set, a seven set AND a nine set -. - )... its almost like discrimination, because other kids are allowed to play basketball, or baseball, or run the track and whatnot. why cant us skaters just do our sport just like everybody else?!?! should I go back anyways?
Generally there are three reasons for schools not wanting skateboarding on their property.
1 Liability, although skateboarding is not as dangerous as other traditional sports, school officials worry that the skaters or skaters' parents may sue the school. A Nebraska Supreme Court decision indicated that there is no more liability for skateboarding than any other activity.
2 Damages. Grinding various objects will in time, wear that object down. Repairs can be costly for an overstretched school budget. Wax, especially on seating areas can be picked up on clothing, or tracked into the school building.
3 Image. Many people still feel skateboarders are outside of proper society and groups of skaters do not give a good 'appearance' to the school.
Should you go back? It's up to you if the risk of getting caught is less than enjoying skating. Check what the penalties for skating are. It may be nothing more than someone chasing you away. You could end up with fines, suspension, your board getting confiscated, community service.
Is this all?
`One Big Binder (I don't need one for every subject because the school already provides us with duo-tangs and notebooks.)

I'm training to become a primary school teacher in New Zealand. I currently have one semester to go to complete my BA in Education Studies (emphasis on Educational Psychology). I will then take a semester off and start the Graduate Diploma of Primary Teaching at the beginning of 2012 (as you can only start this course at the beginning of a year once completed an undergraduate degree).
But anyway, I'm wondering what I can do now to set me up to get a job in a really good school when I'm finished?
I've got seven months off between my courses and I'm planning to apply for some teacher aiding positions.
I have a first aid certificate, I was a prefect at school, I've done Scouting, I have done quite a bit of non-paid work experience in primary schools, plenty of babysitting, I've had a part time job since my last year of high school (from working at Subway, helping with university graduation, residential assistant at multiple university accommodations) and I've coached soccer teams at 5-7 year ages. I also get pretty good grades, I'm sitting on an A- average at the moment.
So what do you think I should be doing between now and when I graduate with the diploma (end of 2012) to make my CV stand out against the rest?
tuitions could help with a recommendation letter from the parents.Maybe some NGO work would stand out too.

Chicago forums set for charter school expansions - Chicago Tribune
Proposals for new charter schools and several campus expansions will be discussed in two community forums and a public hearing scheduled by Chicago Public Schools in the next few days.
If all are approved by the CPS board Jan. 26, they would result in seven new charter campuses for the city.
The original charter proposals were tabled Dec. 15 after heavy criticism from residents. Interim schools chief Terry Mazany, at his first school board meeting, said he wanted to take a step back and address residents' concerns while being mindful of the district's "financial realities."
Legal Preparatory Charter Academy wants to establish a charter school emphasizing skills used in the legal profession for students in grades 9 to 12, and Montessori School of Englewood is proposing a charter school for kindergarten to grade eight. Kwame Nkrumah Academy, which runs a contract school in Pullman for kindergarten to fourth grade with an African-centered curriculum, is seeking to become a charter school. Charter schools have their own rules and regulations independent of CPS policy.
