Against School Uniform

this is a look into what the students at dv actually think about a possible school uniform policy.

My reasons for being against uniforms are:
Unable to express self, not related to improving grades, and it's unfair for the whole school to suffer if only a few dress inappropriately.
I need a good way to start and end it:)thanks so much!

I haven't written a paper like this in a while,
but one idea for a start is "Imagine a world where children aren't allowed to express themselves..." Or something along those lines.
Your first sentence should captivate your audience, make them want to read more.

I need some ideas that are against school uniform or any ideas on how we can personalize it

-School uniform infringes upon our individuality.
-It can be uncomfortable to study in all day.
-It can be boring for students wearing the same thing day in, day out.

If we can't stop wearing uniform altogether, why can't we...?

-Have more non-uniform days (it's for charity!)
-Wear a basic colour scheme (for example navy and black) that still looks smart but you can have more of a choice.
-Be able to have brightly coloured bags, hairbands etc.

I am against school uniforms in school, and I'm having a debate with students who likes uniform.
I need evidence and facts to support me. I got few points, more will help, thanks.

Well, for me personally, i grew up in the "ghetto", and i actually enjoyed the uniforms. It stopped a lot of the gang related issues at my school. Less violence, more education.

Please give me a list of for and against school uniform i would like 5 bullet points for both columns

POSITIVES

-It is cheaper to implement uniforms because parents don't have to worry about "Back to school" shopping and having their kids want new clothes for school all the time.

-Students focus more on school, rather than what everyone else is wearing. This reduces hierarchy in social levels, to an extent.

-Kids don't waste time worry about what they look like (as much) because they already know what they are wearing.

-There is no struggle between student and school on what is and what is not appropriate.

-It is easier for schools to tell what kids go to their school. People wearing civilian clothing stand out and bring attention to themselves.

-Uniforms make it more difficult for gangs to identify themselves. This reduces violence and aggression.

-Uniforms instill a sense of community within the school. Everyone is the same and is therefore seen for their personality, not their income, their clothes, just them


NEGATIVES

They're expensive.
You have to have multiples or do laundry every night.
The administration gets picky about falling hems, pins, scotch tape, etc, so you have to maintain them.
The wearers don't like them, think they look fat, think they look ugly.
Summer and winter, the same garment may not be appropriate based on weather.

I think the positives outweigh the negatives.
No options, you know what to wear everyday.
Eliminates class distinction based on clothing.
No morning fights between student and parent about clothes.
Modest.

I wore a uniform everyday from kndergarten through the end of middle school. I lived through it and could spend my clothing allowance on cool stuff, instead of stuff to wear to school.

I could express myself in a lot more ways than by what I wore: music, art, theatre, dancing...much more creative than a pair of jeans.
