Back To School Uniform

Our school uniform is: a blue, yellow, white, or red colored polo with brown, tan, navy blue, or black pants, shorts, skirt, or capris. The shorts and skirts have to be almost knees length. Shoes have to have a back and no sandals. You always have to wear socks and leggings aren't alowed. Basically hair and accessories are however you want them. I know my uniform isn't as bad as most people but how can I make it more stylish?

the purpose of uniforms.....to create uniformity throughout the school....i understand wanting to be stylish but you are kind of defeating the purpose aren't you?....everyones clothing is supposed to look the same so i suggest jewelery, hair, and make up are your only other options

My school uniform consists of a polo shirt(without any insignia or signs on them) with 3 buttons, and navy, black, or khaki pants. I can wear shorts, but they have to be fingertip length. The shirt can be any color. Any shoes, but they must have a back on them (no flipflops) We can wear belts and accecorize any way we want.

I have the same uniform as you and this is what i do

1. make sure you have a cute hairstyle
2. wear lots of jewelry
3. wear shoes that match your style such as converse, flats etc
4. make sure your clothes fit
5. BELTS!

My uniform's not that bad, really. I'm just kinda sick of it.

when i went to private school i used to wear leggings or knit tights under my skirt during the winter. they were comfy and definitely different.
wear cute glasses, and hair accessories. (scarves are a good idea--simple, cute, but they make a statement.) but don't go too crazy with accessories in general because too much is too much.
also, get your own shoes, if you can. uniform shoes are usually boring and ugly, so if you can get away with getting something that works without standing out too much (i used to wear ballet flats instead of the nasty guy shoes we were supposed to wear) go ahead and do that.

enjoy the uniform while you're wearing it, though. i'm going to college now and some days i really miss not having to worry about what to wear...

My child had violated the school uniform policy so school had a uniform Police Officer (place the child in the back of thier police car) who also serves as the school resource office bring the child to my jjob wiithout calling to let me know the kid and the officer just showed up. Is this legal?

We seem to be obsessed with school uniform in the UK.

The vast majority of students, teachers and parents all support it. Nobody is actually happy about the uniform they have to wear but most people want a uniform of some kind.

Uniform causes incredibly bitter disputes between students and schools, especially where the parents support the child.

Scools invest a massive amount of time and effort in policing minor uniform infractions.

Most other countries have no uniform but higher educational standards. If uniform is a good thing, why don't other countries copy our example?

No it doesn't at all, TRUST me...
I have attended Catholic school for half of my life, and they require us to wear a uniform.
At the same time, people are still in gangs, smoke/started smoking, got into fights, and more....
You can't teach a child discipline by giving them a certain outfit to wear.

I just transfered from a public school to a private school last year. The people still acted the same - actually worse! And most of them have been wearing uniforms for most of their life.
