How to dress up a school uniform?
Grade 10 and every girl's Lady Diana haircut

I am a freshman in high school and I have to wear colored shirts (any color) and cotton pants (brown, black, grey, white, and khaki). What can I add to dress it up and look different? And do you have any tips for make-up? Im african american with the same skin color as jennifer hudson but I want a natural look. Any school appropriate suggestions?

I go to a private school so I know what you're going through with the uniforms. My uniform is a lot more strict than yours is, so dressing it up a bit should be easy.

First analyse your own personal style outside of school, doing this will help you figure out what accessories you want to bring into your school outfit. Just use the accessories that you wear on a daily basis to spice up your uniform. Do your shoes have to be mandated? If not your shoes can set you apart as well.

Now you mentioned makeup, for school you should keep it light and fresh, a great foundation that matchess your skin tone is a good way to start, it will help cover any imperfections and give an overall polished look. There are many different types of foundations to choose from, powder, liquid, mouuse, mineral, spray, and probably many more. I love powder for an even but natural look, if you need more coverage you should try liquid with a powder over it to combat shine.

For eyes I would stay with browns and taupes, nothing too dark or too light. Keeping your eye makeup simple and classic send a professional amd focused message while keeping you soft and pretty, a dark eyeliner on your lids defines your eyes but you should make sure to keep the line smooth and thin to avoid "racoon eyes" no matter how popular it is with the teen crowd these days.Mascara opens your eyes and can add drama to any makeup application, it is the universal eye opener, if you wear nothing elsemake sure you wear mascara. Blush helps finish a look and gives color to your face, it ties your whole look together. Choose a blush that suits your skin tone and texture, cremes work for some but powders work better for others.

To help your makeup look effortless and beautiful you need to start with a good canvas. Keep your skin looking it's best whatever that means for you, drink plenty of water, excercise and get your sleep it really makes a difference.

I wish you the best of luck with this and i hope I was able to help.

How can I "Rock" my school uniform?

I have to wear a uniform to school

Shirt: Pink polo or Black polo. (no logo's)

Pants:Khaki or black (has to come to knee. has to be cotton)

Wear your shirt and pants form fitting.
For example: http://polo.imageg.net/graphics/product_ images/pPOLO2-4289851_standard_v330.jpg< br /> (And yes polos do come in tunic legnth)

(I think these pants are cool , they even come with suspenders. You could pair it with a pink polo , a black jacket, necklace or bangle, flats or even layered socks and doc marten black boots)
You could also wear converse sneakers, cute ballet flats or ofrcourse boots.
Style your hair in a edgy hairdo. Or wear it girly and cute with a headband and loose curls. Accessorize with different forms of jewelry from earrings to rings, bracelets to necklaces, even belts (see picture above).
You can even layer over your polos with a basic black vest, a fitted blazer (you could add the schools logo as a patch on the front ), or a basic black boyfriend style cardigan.

how can i look stylish wearing my school uniform?

hey guys-
so for school i have to wear a school shirt, it says my school name and comes in black, white, grey and green. its like a regular, thicker cotton shirt. just your typical shirt. we can wear whatever else we want, we just need to wear the shirt.

my problem is that i dont know how to make it look stylish. i usually just wear it with any kind of jeans, or shorts or skirt but its boring. what can i do to look more unique and stylish?

thanks-

What you should do is coordinate your different shirt colors with nice pairs of pants and skirts.

For skirts, you should wear nice denim skirts, A-line skirts and pleateed skirts, and if you want that schoolgirl look, wear a skirt that is pleated and plaid. Also, you should wear nice tights or pantyhose to match the skirts as long as its not too hot out there.

As for pants, get some nice pairs of jeans that fit you well.

As for shoes, you should wear sneakers, flats or boots that compliment your outfit well.

Jewelry is also key. If you can wear a lot of different types of jewelry, use that to your advantage to accessorize and to make your outfit stand out better.

dockers white uniform shirts 60%cotton 40%polyester put in the washer with 1/2 bleach and they turned yellow?

full load of whites with 1/2 cup of bleach everything came white except the dockers school uniform shirts. help cant afford to school shop again

first of all you added to much bleach you really only need a 1/4 cup for stuff to come out with but the reason the others come out yellow was because they are a synthetic material (polyester) DON'T DRY them .... try going and getting some BIZ (it is in the landry soap aisle) and putting a full load of water in the washer (cold) and one scoop of biz let that set for couple to few hours then finishing washing it that should work unless you already dried them GOOD LUCK TO YOU

  • Beloved UTEP journalism professor dies

    Guestbook: Offer your condolences

EL PASO -- Ray Small, former dean of UTEP's College of Liberal Arts, died Sunday. He was 94.

Up until 2005, communication students could still find the silver-haired "Dean Small" in his tiny office in the Cotton Memorial Building, where he advised them which courses to take.

"What amazed me is that who he was dealing with in the end was freshmen," said a colleague and communication professor Barthy Byrd. "He advised students hour after hour after hour. It took us two people to replace him."

Small was born Aug. 2, 1915, in Winters, Texas.

Between 1942 and 1946, during World War II, he was an officer in both the Air Force and the Navy.

His 65-year-old daughter, Andra Sherrill from El Paso, recalled when her father was traveling to Annapolis, Md., for his first military training.

"Because he had his uniform on, everybody was saluting him. He didn't know how to salute but he was wearing the uniform because my mother wanted him to,"

The Surprising Benefits of School Uniforms

The war waged over school uniforms in the public school sector appears to be waning. Parents, educators, and students are seeing the advantages and the successes of school uniforms in public school districts across the USA and schools who are just implementing policies are not facing the hurdles faced just one year ago. With the help of promotional clothing distributors, these schools can make choices that have received positive results in other school districts such as logo t-shirts and polo shirts.

Educators looking to quell gang activity, improve grades, and decrease tension and competitiveness between students by implementing school uniforms looked to promotional clothing professionals when determining what to include in the basic uniform. The pros suggested basic cotton t-shirts or polo shirts because they are durable and cost efficient. The cotton fabric is excellent for silk screening school logos.
