I go to a Catholic School, so the rules were already pretty strict. But now, they threw all these new rules at us that seem harsh:
The school uniform must be worn properly at all times while on school grounds and on the way to school (if you walk or take the bus). This includes before and after school. And by properly, the mean shirt tucked in, skirt knee length, shoes polished, and only one button undone.
Only the uniform sweater is allowed (as seen in photo). No other coats or hoodies are allowed.
The uniform must be worn to ALL school club activites, even on weekends!
Students helping out at a Sunday Mass must come in their school uniform
In order to receive the student discount (free) for after school sporting events, you must be wearing your school uniform. And if you do not wear it properly, you can get a detention.
And now, the nearby mall has been given the authority to give detentions to students not wearing their uniforms properly (they say we cause trouble)

I dont think its fair that you have to wear your uniform at the mall and on weekends. But at least your uniform isn't ugly.

School uniform rules are by their very NATURE "unfair." But they have nothing to do with fairness, and everything to do with conformity and discipline.
Very little that happens within the four walls of a school is fair.

im on a low income and local school has changed to academy the uniform is now over £150 and no one can get help or discounts where can i get help please.
also the school uniform has the school name on every item so u can only buy it there with no help i am on £120 a week for me and 2 children ther are no other places in my town to get it
i would also like to add that the 1st year at school the uniform was a discounted price but we was not told this they have changed a typical council estate school to a good high achieving school but the problem is its still the school for most of the poorest families in our area and he rides to school as its our closest secondary school

Anyone know where can I buy cheap school uniforms? Need the following brands: Royal Park / ClassRoom or Educational Outfitters. The brandnames are MANDATORY because uniforms are suppose to be purchased with a uniform store required by the private school. However, I'm looking for a discount by looking on my own for the brands that are required. Alreadly looked on Ebay but no boy items listed. In need of Royal Blue shorts/Pants for boys. Any suggestions?
have you heard of freecycle yet? It's a forum for people to give away stuff they don't want to throw away, but can't use anymore. I think it's freecycle.com...just google it. Also, you might look in consignment shops in your area. For the future, you might want to befriend someone with an older boy who might give you their hand-me-downs for a cheap price, or free. Hope you find what you need.

'Rice subsidy shows govt cares for needy folk'

The Rice Subsidy for the People programme (Subur) will provide each family with subsidy coupons for up to 30kg of rice monthly.
In launching the Subur programme here last night, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said it was the best example of the gover nment’s efforts to ensure that it met the needs of the people.
