Embroidered School Uniform

Help please!! My daughter will begin reception in the next september.
How many we will need? sweatshirt with embroidered logo?, polo shirts with embroidered logo?
Set uniform P.E.?
Is it better to buy many cheap pieces, or worth it to spend more on quality?

Buy 2 sweatshirts with logos, but 4 plain polo shirts - maybe one with the logo if you like.

I normally buy the sweatshirts at school and then the other stuff at M&S or Sainsburys - do not spend a lot of money because she will soon outgrow it or loose it. Remember to name everything.

Also I'm not sure of your school but ours will probably still wear summer dresses in September so maybe buy 2 of those as well.

Just buy one PE kit which is normally shorts (joggers in winter), t-shirt (sweat shirt in winter) & trainers.

Good quality school shoes is a must though.

anyone who knows a school that the uniform is redish or maroon colored skirt, have redish or maroon colored necktie ( just like the color of the skirt) with the logo of the school embroidered on it, and wearing a long sleeve blouse.

Blazer
Dark green with school badge embroidered onto pocket.
Trousers or skirt
Black. These need to be proper school uniform items, fashion styles are not acceptable. There is a choice of two styles for girls’ skirts and trousers. Skirts should be a minimum length of 20 inches - mini skirts are not acceptable.
Shirt
White, long sleeve, buttoning to the neck to be worn with tie.
Optional for term 6 only:
Short sleeve shirt with embroidered ammonite logo (girls' and boys' version) for wearing without blazer and tie during hot weather. To avoid any confusion, this must be a formal shirt with a proper collar, not a polo shirt.
School tie
Jumper (optional)
Dark green, v-neck, either long sleeve or sleeveless, only to be worn under blazer.
Black school shoes

Just add in some belts, earrings, bracelets, headbands, necklaces and different bags. You said black shoes... Would it matter if you wrote on them? Or better, have your friends write on them.

I’m currently on a gap year in between high school and college taking an enrichment class and working as an artist in residence at my school in the morning, and then interning the rest of the day, and I’d like to find a way to make my uniform look more professional so I can wear it from the classroom to the office with just a little sprucing up in between. I’m very tall and slender, and have experienced an immense amount of frustration trying to find age-appropriate business attire in my size, and am tired of schlepping in the few suits that I do have on top of everything else I need to school and completely changing every morning. I’m working one-on-one with my lovely mentor and her staff, and there isn’t a formal dress code that I must adhere to, but I still would like to make an effort to look more refined rather than just wearing my uniform as-is. So, I’m putting up the Bat-Signal for my fashion distress, and am hoping some of you style mavens can give me suggestions on how to polish up my school look for work.

My uniform consists of a white Oxford or polo shirt (long or short sleeve) with a four pleat or box pleat skirt in grey or khaki, and optional outerwear like vests, cardigans, pullover sweaters or a blazer in the school colors. I’d like to stick to the basics of the uniform and snazzify it with accessories and other finishing touches. Just to re-emphasize, shoes really can make an outfit and take it to the next level. Not to be cliche, but a good pair of heels are always sophisticated and a lovely way to dress up an otherwise casual uniform. This can include Oxfords or ankle booties too, like so:

I'm not sure exactly how warm it is in LA this time of the year, but you might manage to find a nice pair of boots to work with the uniform.

Also, since the skirt looks a little short for an internship, you could pair it with a basic pair of tights, or if you're feeling bold, go a la Blaire Waldorf with a crazy color or pattern:

The best way to dress up the uniform though, would be with a killer blazer. I don't know why, but blazers really seem to polish off an outfit for me. I got a really cute velvet blazer from J Crew earlier in the year that I can pair with almost anything.

Other than that, I'm sure you can use your creativity and already fabulous wardrobe to spruce up the uniform. Get creative and start incorporating your favorite accessories in to the basics.

- Oversized totes

And yes, as silly as it may sound, go through some pictures of Serena Van Der Woodsen or Blaire Waldorf's uniforms if you are stuck on ideas.
