New School Uniform

I go to a private school in Maine
Previously we had a dress code of polo shirts and khaki pants but it has been recently changed
The new boys uniform is
Navy Blue Blazer
Tie
White Shirt
Gray Pants
Dress shoes

The girls uniform is the same but they don't have to wear ties and can wear skirts

The new uniform is a lot stricter, what do you think of it?

Uniform in question now has a large triangular shaped hole in it right in the middle of the shoulder area. There is no way that it can be easily repaired. Would you want it replaced at the school's expense? At the child's parents' expense? Would you not say anything and just replace it yourself? Or some other course of action?

I would go into the school and complain...not necessarilly about the fact that the uniform is damaged but about the fact you have not been informed about this. The school should've noticed or dealt with the issue and come to you or contacted you to explain about it and about what they are going to do.

Once you have been into the school I would put it to them that your child cannot wear it anymore and pose the question of who is going to foot the bill. I imagine the school will and then contact the parent or guardian of the child who has done it and claim the money back from them.

You need to say something otherwise the issue may arrise again.

the best place to find images is prolly the fashion website for vogue...being that no one knows what the future holds..you could definately play off the futuristic gold and metalics they have in season on the runway...but i wouldnt go too far with it because its only 5 years well almost 4 now...so what id do is maybe go back old school and use some plaids and things like that...

Yesterday we warned that our school has a new uniform policy - if your uniform isn't perfect you get suspended for the day. We assumed this meant top buttons done up and ties up, shirts tucked in, ect.

We arrived today to find ourselves being put into lines to be inspected outside the school, (making us late for our first lessons), sometimes having to take off our coats or gloves so they could check for nail varnish (it's freezing!!) and people were being suspended for a day for things like;

Bras showing up under tops
Bright hair bobbles
Bright glasses
Socks any colour other than black (including grey)

I can understand detention, or a phone call home, but suspension? A girl isn't coming in tomorrow because of her pink hair bobble.

What do you think?

That is the stupidest uniform policy i've ever heard of. I mean at my school we only get demerits then detention, but suspension?
