Not only are you pro-uniform, but you believe that the students should be given the allowance to vote on their favorite type of uniform in order to enforce it, thus creating compromise?
Pro uniform:
1- the students will not be distracted by who has what name brand clothing on - no clothing competitiveness.
2- the parents will have to spend less $$ ultimately on school clothes, because the designer jeans will be left at home.
3- the student will have less indecision about what to wear in the morning.
4- the students can still individualize with limited accessories such as jewelry, headbands, etc.

I'm doing a speech and I need help thinking of an attention getter!
how about the fact that most guys wear their pants around their ankles and girls might as well be wearing only underwear with how revealing their clothing is
We're doing a formal debate with the topic 'School uniforms should be banned' where my team is Negative and we need a catchphrase to end our speeches with. Something good enough to not be boring. Thanks, your help is much appreciated x)
Your team is negative? meaning you are arguing in favor of uniforms?
Well, the biggest bonus for us "poor kids" was that we didn't have to try to wear trendy clothes - that our parents could not afford, so:
"If we're all the same there ain't no shame."

I am totally against them for a number of reasons:
First the remind people of a dark period in our history where a dictator made youth wear uniforms.
Second they destroys the individuality of the students.
Third in a lot of places they make it difficult for parents with low income to pay for a new uniform. They have to buy it second hand because the schools get kick backs if they arrange it so only certain shops have a specific school uniform in stock. Children are bullied when they arrive in a old uniform purchased second hand.
If they are bullied due to their clothes, what is the benefit of wearing school uniforms?
I have to argue the cons of school uniforms for my English class. Internet links and honest opinions appreciated.
I will stress...."HAVE TO" argue against.... no matter what my honest opinion is.
My son has attended schools where uniforms were required and ones that had an open dress code. Honestly, I am both for and against school uniforms…depending on the school’s policy.
The first school my son attended the uniforms were great! The uniforms consisted of khaki or navy slacks, uniform shorts, or uniform skirts; along with a simple polo that had to be white, basic red, or navy. The items had to be free of any writing or logos, and the slacks couldn’t be “cargo” style. These requirements were simple and easy to find at an affordable price for even the poorest families, like we were at that time. I’m not ashamed to admit that I combed my town’s thrift and resale stores until I had enough items to cover the basics. Also, this kept my son from being too bored with his clothes, he could mix and match the colors of shirts/slacks to his taste that day…and it always coordinated nicely, lol!
The school that my son attends now has aspects that I like and severely dislike about their uniforms. The school require that every student purchase their polo shirts from the school, before the new year starts. They have to wear these exact shirts every single day. My first issue is the cost, these shirts are $15.00 each. A basic polo shirt at a bargain store (such as Walmart) will only cost $8-10 at best. The second issue I have is that the shirts are not a great quality and don’t come in a wide range of sizes. My son is currently a 7th grader in this middle school with one year to go, and due to his height and wide shoulders is already wearing the largest size they have available (XXL) and it fits comfortably. When I asked the school about this they told me that is the largest size available from the manufacturer, this year it’s not a problem, but it will be by next year. There are currently some larger students that have to wear a basic polo from local stores because they cannot fit into the shirts available…this alone singles out these students, which completely defeats the purpose of having uniforms.
Uniforms do a good job of allowing kids not to focus on petty things like who’s wearing what, and focus on more important aspects of learning, especially as they get into middle school and high school. I can vividly remember high school, and not having the “right clothes”. However, if a schools policy allows no room for individuality, then that’s not really a good thing either. School age children (especially pre-teens and teenagers) work through a process as they grow, trying to develop their own personalities. Everyone is different, and that’s okay….this basic life lesson is vital, and I worry that uniforms are impacting that personal growth. This year the school my son attends has granted “free dress” days as a reward of sorts for the students. They can have a free dress on the last day of the month if they haven’t used a hall pass more than twice in that month. And they can also have a free dress day on their birthday (or the closest school day to it) if they haven’t had a disciplinary action in that school quarter. The administration also provides school wide free dress days a couple times of year, usually as a reward for something the school body has excelled in.
I’m not sure if this was the type of info you were looking for, but I hope it helps with your project.

My understanding – based mostly on the translated words of the video which may or may not be correct – is its an pro abstinence video…
However there is one part that confused me more so – it mentioned “don’t take sex education classes” to keep yourself pure… Last I checked, people don’t tend to have orgies in sex ed, however I am not in Japan, either.
The lyrics at the bottom were accurate. It’s usually a sign of accuracy if they’re way too long to read. A better translation would actually be less accurate.
Anyways, I am not Japanese (I speak it some), but I don’t think the video really had an agenda. They have a different aesthetic over there, and a lot of their songs are just this side of complete nonsense, but they sound good… or they sound like the song in this video!
