School rugby team uniform help?
Vajiravudh College วชิราวุธวิทยาลัย

hey, im going to be on my high schools girls rugby team this year...the cost is 180. and 140 is for the uniform. which is just a jersey, shorts and socks. ive seen girls from the rugby team wear a nylon jacket that says SCHOOL RUGBY or something like that, but normally, so schools offer other uniforms for free? or do you have to order the extra shirts and jackets?? :( \

btw i love in ontario and my school is quite big. 1000 ppl :)
thanxx

i think its such a rip-off

Your dues and uniform fees don't seem too far off-base, depending on what your uniform is like; a lot of the rugby playing jerseys, like the Barbarian Pro-Fit jerseys and the CCC sublimation jerseys, can cost close to $100.00 alone (American dollars,) particularly if there's customization involved, such as name, number, or a customized colorway. If your entire kit is customized, the price sounds reasonable. Your dues are close to what I pay for my club, per season, as well.

I doubt the jackets you've seen players wearing are free, because, well, nothing is free. Most likely, players are given the option to order additional gear, but are not required to. Often these kind of items include jackets, sweatshirts, kit bags, and so on.

Isn't my school uniform sooo over the top?
Rugby Boys

I'm in Britain so obviously every school has a uniform. Heres what it is:

(thsi is for girls obviously-boys is similar)
Black Blazer with School badge on
White Shirt
Plain Grey School Trousers/Plain Grey School Skirt
Grey V-neck Cardi or Jumper
Plain Black Tights/Plain Black Socks
Black Flat Shoes
My School Tie
Plain Black Rucksack or Shoulder Bag
Plain Black Coat (no hoodies allowed)
Plain Black Scarf and Gloves (for winter & no hats allowed)
Plain Black Hair Accessories
One Small Plain Gold or Silver Stud in each ear if you have earrings
No Other Jewellery
No Highlights allowed in hair
Black Umbrellas Only

P.E- (this is girls one- boys is basically rugby shirt instead of polo and black shorts.)

Pale Blue Polo Shirt with School Badge on
Grey Pleated Games Skirt
Black Gym Pants with Two Vertical Blue Stripes
Plain White Socks
Plain White Trainers
Plain Black Sweatshirt with School Badge on
Long Plain Blue Socks and shinpads for Football and Hockey.

Also, we are not allowed to take oor Blazers off in the summer or roll our sleeves up.

i live in notts. no make-up allowed. if you dont follow the rules you get a weeks after school detentions. also, if boys have tram lines or patterns in their hair or it is shorter than a number 2 thingy they have to go into isolation until it grows back again. im not joking! there was this girl in year 7 and she rolled up her sleeves and she was put in isolation. grr its so stupid. even some of the teachers think its stupid having so many rules. by the way-black is HORRIBLE in summer because its a heat trap. :(
oh yeah and shirt tucked in at all times, skirt must not end more than 4cm above the knee and 6 stripes on the tie at all times. punishment for not doing this is again isolation. they dont even care when kids faint in the heat! its horrible!
highlights is isolation until all the dye comes out. this happened to my friend Bella when she got pink highlights.
its not a posh school. just a normal secondary school.

I'm a teacher and I hate school uniform.

Fortunately I work in a VI form with no uniform, although we do have a dress code (no hoods up in class).

My school uniform was actually stricter than that. Navy blue, skirt HAD to be knee length. No trousers.

Different tie in different years.

Leather satchel.

And summer, well just be thankful you don't have to wear a pink gingham dress.

And no this wasn't a posh school it was a comprehensive.

I've never understood the uniform thing, it's not as if it's going to make you work better, be cleverer, behave better. And frankly as a teacher I'd rather teach than spend time telling people their skirt is too short of their shirt needs tucking in.

Bullied because of my school uniform?

Any advice?
All of the 'popular' people seen to have found a way to bend the rules and wear fancy grey shirts instead of white, heeled school shoes, grey striped trousers, a new outfit for each day etc.
Only i get bullied for what i wear - scruffy shoes that happen to be very comfortable, a school jumper, a plain white shirt and that's the only outfit i have to last me the week.
I have other things i tried to change which i wore once- but my shirt apparently looked like 'a rugby top gone wrong', and my new jumper was 'horrible'.

The thing is, i can afford a fancy uniform - but it would just take me above the line of -trying to not be noticed/ talked about- and that would be even more hassle than wearing my previous one. I don't know what to do. I was humiliated in class the other day because of my school jumper - but i can't just give in now, because of that day because then people will go on about it even more! Not to mention, whatever i buy i have to buy online because i'm not allowed out, so i can't try anything on.
I feel like i'm in stale mate, what do i do?
I'm a girl, 14.

And i can't wear what the 'popular' people wear, because then i'll just get "What the hell is she wearing?" and weird looks forever. There is a line that i should just not step over sometimes.

That sucks! Lots of times when people argue for school uniforms, they say that uniforms prevent students from competing or bullying about clothes, but it's so not true.

All you can do is wear what you're comfortable with and be happy you're not as petty as them.

Be open to adding stuff to your uniform over time if you can afford it, but don't get pushed into it just because they're being mean.

Also, what do you mean you're not allowed out so you can't try things on? Are you grounded or are your parents just really controlling? It would be nice if you could explain to them what's going on.

Tri-Stemmet: Just be Yourself

I may be wrong but I told her before the camp that leaders are born and you can't pretend to be one. If it's within you to lead, guide and inspire, it comes naturally and it's not a switch that you switch on whenever you need to be one.

She told me that's just what she did, being herself and was amazed at one or two of the children that where totally the opposite at the camp than what they are at school.
