School Uniform Dress Code

I was just curious about other people's middle and high school uniforms/dress codes. My Massachusetts public school is not strict about it, the main rules for girls are fingertip length shorts and tank top straps must be as wide as 2 fingers. If you break it, then you get a few warnings and after that have to change into something from the lost and found...everyone breaks it, and just hides from the teachers who get mad. Well anyway yeah I was just wondering how other people had it.

I'm in college now so I don't have a dress code. But here is what my high school's dress code was (Public North Carolina school).

-- No shirts that showed your back, stomach, sides, or shoulders.
-- Shirts/dresses could not show cleavage. You had to be able to lay your hand flat on your chest and be able to touch your collarbone and the top of your shirt. If you couldn't do that your shirt was too low cut.
-- Shirts couldn't be longer than your fingertips.
-- Shorts, dresses, and skirts had to be fingertip length or longer.
-- Pants/shorts had to be worn on the waist. If they sagged you had to wear a belt with them.
-- No clothing that promoted sex, violence, drugs, alcohol, or gangs. Clothing couldn't have cuss words on them either.
-- Bras and underwear couldn't be showing.
-- No hats, bandannas, or head coverings were allowed to be worn in the building.
-- No bedroom slippers or pajamas were allowed.
-- No shorts or pants that had words on the butt were allowed.
-- No holes in jeans above the fingertips.

Not all of the dress code was enforced though. The only thing the teachers really cared about was the head coverings and the shoulders being shown. If your butt was falling out of your bottoms then they would make you change and if your shirt was too low they would tell you to pull it up, but other than that the dress code wasn't really enforced. Of course there were the few teachers that were super strict and made sure you followed all of the dress code. You leanred who those teachers were and hid from them!

I go to a school that has a very strict dress code and theres about nothing you can wear with it without getting in trouble.. is there a way to make what your stuck wearing look good? you have to war a white polo and navy blue pants
yes there are girls too.

I go to a school too with a strict dress code. Although it is easier for the girls to accessorize since we can wear necklaces and jewelry, i see lots of the guys who put their own personality into the uniform somehow. Shoes tell a lot about a guy. I see lots of guys wearing those new Nike flat sneakers that come in all those different colors ( do you know what i am talking about?) It is hard to wear sneakers to school since my school bans them too, but sometimes you can get away with it if they are clean and neat. Some guys wear skater shoes and it depends on the teacher you have that if you can get away with them. Another way to add personality to your uniform is your hair. Although it can't be long or too out of control, i would try to get a hair cut that not everyone has. Or add some ( but not too many ) spikes or just brush in some hair gel with your hands. Other than that, i do find it tough to really make the uniform fun. I am used to polo shirts too in my school and i understand why you are having a hard time making it look good.....good luck :)

we have to wear either khakis or black pants, maroon, black, grey, or white polos with no camis r ne thing under, black r brown shoes, oh and the poos can't have any logos at all on them... no stripes either............HELP!!!!!!!!!??????!!!!!!!!!!!!

ohh i have to wear a uniform too! i know they suck :P
well for shoes: sperries, vans, and rocketdog canvas shoes all come in brown and black varieties and are very cute
try spending extra time on your hair and makeup to look extra put together
jewelry and headbands are your best freind ^-^, forever21 has the cheapest and best looking accesories
little things like having your nails and headband in matching colors make a difference
and aeropostale and american eagle have unlogoed uniform items for school

Dress code is oxford shirts and khakis, sweaters allowed. No sneakers, or sneaker like shoes.
How can I keep a boho style without breaking dress code?

Pull your oxford out a bit, don't tuck it in really tight so it's kind of puffy.

Were necklesses, bracelets and rings.

Have your hair wavy with natural make-up.
