Well one day in History class, my class started screwing off. The kept talking and stuff. This was a block day, so we had this class for 85 minutes. After about 10 minutes, our teacher gave up teaching us. He just sat at his desk quietly, while everyone else continued to talk (they didn't even notice he stopped teaching) Finally he said at the last minute of class "Well I hope you had a fun class today, because your all coming back on Saturday. I will see you at 8 AM sharp. No one be late. We'll be done when everything is done." Can he do this, make us come on Saturday to learn? And keep us for an unknown length of time? My friends (in his class at a different period) do not have to come. So, can he do this?
Your entire class showed emense disrespect for the teacher. When youre in class the students should listen and pay attention. It does not matter if it is an 85 minute class or a 45 minute class. I think he definately has the right to make the class come in on your saturday. You wasted his time and now hes going to make it up. Since the WHOLE class decided they wanted to talk and have fun during class time instead of waiting until after class they now have to suffer on what would have been their free time, to learn. Let me ask you this... did you do anything to grab other students attention to shut up and pay attention? If not then you are just as responsible. Think of it this way if you dont go I bet everything that will be on your next test will be only from that one day of class everyone was being rude.
In the future when this happens a simple "Hey guys shut up!" will do... trust me it works! Then you wont be wasting your saturdays anymore on what should have been during the week. (And 85 minute classes are nothing- try 5 hour classes in college- and if you dont pay attention you need to teach it to yourself)
My school is having a history dress down day (normally we wear uniforms). What is a good famous figure? I'm thinking people like Madonna, Cleopatra, Jesus, Anne Frank, Cher. But these have already been taken.
