How can I customize this uniform without getting in trouble?
This is the school uniform list:
SCHOOL UNIFORMS
We believe that the dress code is an important component in promoting and teaching many characteristics that we feel are essential such as responsibility, accountability, attention to detail, and the importance of a neat and well-groomed appearance. There are guidelines that govern dress and grooming to ensure a relatively consistent appearance. Our uniform also serves as a reminder that each of our students is a part of something special and unique, something that is greater than they are. Thus there are guidelines that govern dress and grooming to ensure a consistency of appearance. (I hate our principal for this. Ha)
DRESS CODE
1.All attire must be neat, clean, and appropriately sized. (Neat? Clean?)
2. Clothing Identification: To facilitate the return of lost clothing, all items should be clearly labeled with nametags or indelible ink. (On everything? Even pants? Who is going to steal my pants?! Stealing pants is SO un-American.
3. Uniform clothing is required for all grades, K4 - 12th, and must be purchased from certain stores: (I’m not going to list them) AND meet the uniform requirements detailed at the bottom of this section.
SHIRTS (Girls and Boys):
***School insignia is required. ***
- Any T-Shirt worn under a knit shirt must be solid white. Long sleeved T-Shirts are not allowed underneath short sleeved knit shirts.
- All shirts must be worn tucked in at all times. (Nobody does. SO TAKE THAT!)

SKIRTS (Girls):
- Skirts are to be fitted to the waist and no shorter than 4" above the knee.

JUMPERS (Girls):
- Jumpers must be no shorter than 4" above the knee.
BELTS (Boys and Girls):
- Belts must be worn with slacks and shorts. (No skirts? ha-ha)
- Solid black, brown or Plaid Belt (WHAT?!)
- Standard buckle (WHAT?!)

SOCKS (Boys and Girls): (why do they even have a section for socks?)

- Only solid-colored black, brown, red, white, or gray socks are approved. (No purple?)
HOSIERY (Girls):
*** Socks or approved leg wear are required at all times. Leggings are not permitted. (Crap, no leggings…)

- Hats or caps are not permitted in the buildings during the school day. They may be worn from building to building and to and from the parking lot. Hats must be worn with the bill in front at all times. (What? Hats have to be worn a certain way, even though you can only wear them from the parking lot and from building to building?)

THE FOLLOWING ARE PROHIBITED:
- Earrings on boys (emo kids are retaliating)
- Hats or sun glasses inside the buildings (Crap, no Dr. Seuss hat!)
- Bandannas (gangsters hate us.)
- Facial and Body Piercing (what about the belly button? With this strict list you won’t even see it since belly buttons can’t show!)
- Chains on Billfolds (*grumble*)
- Tattoos (OMG! What not? What are they going to scan you or something?)
- Black fingernail polish (Ha, I wear it to school sometimes. They never notice when you keep your hands in your pocket!)
- Any clothing or accessory that the administration deems unsuitable
Penalties for Dress Code Violations
Teachers are to send students to the Counselors Office if clothes are in question. Any student not dressed within the policy code will have his or her parents contacted. Repeated violations of dress code policy may result in the following:
1. The parent may bring the student appropriate clothing (the student will remain unexcused out of class until the appropriate attire is brought to the school). *so un-cool*
2. The student may purchase acceptable clothing in the school store if it is available (parents will be billed for the purchase).
3. The student will serve in-school suspension. Continued violations of school dress code policy may result in suspension or expulsion. *WTF?!*
This sucks. I NEED REAL CLOTHES! In addition, I thought this school supported freedom to Americans and non conformity? I guess not…
I agree Abby <3, that isn't right! Emo kids are mad because they don't have their earrings where they want, and can't wear nail polish.
But I think our school just trys to make us look representable, because we get vistors...alot. Haha.
GEEZ!! It's like they are trying to make you be what they want you to be. That isn't right!
Anyways, try wearing cute nail polish, cute earrings, and shoes. And maybe a necklace and rings. And a scarf, if they allow that.

I'm looking to purchase a girls middy blouse for a girls school uniform. It has to be white. The middy blouse is the "sailor" blouse with the big collar on the back.
Thanks for any help!
Please list links if possible!
I saw some at Target when the back to school season was in. Don't know if they're still in stock. Go to Target.com to check. Good Luck!
My school has a really strict uniform/dress code. What accessories can I add to make myself look stylish on the first day of school?
Here is the uniform:
School polo shirt in white, maroon, or forest green,
Black or Khaki Skirt/skort no higher than two inches above the knee OR school plaid skirt.
White socks,
Predominately white or black tennis shoes OR Brown or black school shoes.
I have fine hair that is sun-bleached blonde and falls just below my shoulder. I am gonna get it cut for school. I want to keep the length but want a fresh look. Any suggestions?
Also, list any accessories you think
I should bring. I am not allowed to have purses but messenger bags are okay and belts are allowed too.
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!!!!!
Yeah, thanks for all your help. I can't wear aeropostle polos, though. (Wish I could!) Just the kind you can buy in the school store. I dont really wear much makeup yet sinse I am only going into 7th grade. I pretty much just wear lipgloss. I am gonna get a manicure for the first day If I can afford it by then, and I like the idea of bracelets and long necklaces. I will hold off on choosing a best answer yet so I can see what other people write.
Well, I am not supposed to have nail polish but they aren't too strict about that. :)
i read this and it helped me out a lot. click on this link
I need ideas on bags, socks, shoes, shirts, hair stuff.
(btw, ive been at this school for 4ish years, and im not a total fashion reject, i just would like some new ideas)
So, here is a list of the uniform parts that i own:
-redish kilt
-beige womens pants
-white fitted blouse
-black polo (short sleeved and long sleeved)
-BIG white short sleeve polo
-Zip up sweater.No hood.
HELP! thanks ;)
Wear natural makeup: lightly brushed bronzer on cheeks, forehead, nose and chin for a natural summer face, groomed eyebrows (tweeze), clear lip gloss (light pink is best) and have clear skin, which means no acne. There may be some products which are the best range for teenage problematic skin.
Keep your nails looking good. If you have strict rules about this, get a French manicure. It looks natural but gorgeous! Nail biting is a sin, and you must stop if you do!
Smell good. bad breath is a huge turnoff. Always carry some mint gum and deodorant, and shower daily.
Wear tiny jewelry. Wear a tiny necklace or a ring that isn't too visible. Keep it simple and only wear one item of jewelry.
Wear a gorgeous watch.
Wear hot school shoes, like kitten heels or ballet flats.
One of the hottest things you can do is wear a ribbon to school. Wrap it round a bun or tie it in a bow on top of a pony-tail. Either way, it's an attractive look. Stringy ribbons look best in bright colours and the thicker ribbons are great in any colour. If you want to be super-cool, you can wear a Chanel ribbon. These come in black and white, but you have to buy a Chanel product as they are part of the packaging.
Try painting your locker with nail polish and colouring in the numbers with highlighter. It's a seriously cute look and if you jazz up the inside of your locker with photos and beads, you'll be the envy of all your friends.
Get a polo or blouse that is not boxy but kind of shows off your figure. Pay attention to the rules on tight fitting clothes.
Wear your favorite color socks (please NO tube socks), if you have to, wear knee highs. If you are able to, get them with fun patterns or solid colors.
Update your style every week. Have a theme each day of the week, like on Monday, you wear blue, so wear blue bracelets.
Coordinate your clothing. Stay fresh as in wearing nike dunks or jordans.
Wear matching belts/purses/earrings.
Council moving to stamp out expensive uniforms
SCHOOLS in Barnet are being urged to review their uniform policies to make them more affordable to struggling families during the credit crunch.
The move is aimed at stopping schools from putting expensive items of clothing on the compulsory uniform list as many families across the borough struggle during the downturn.
On Tuesday Barnet Council unanimously agreed to back the motion put by Tory Councillor John Hart.
He said: “What we are looking to do is to make uniforms in all our schools affordable to all. We want to do that by stopping the monopoly some outfitters enjoy.
“Many supermarkets make it affordable for people to outfit their children for under £10.”
He urged schools to include more generic clothing including polo shirts into their uniform policies, and where appropriate make school crests available for parents to attach themselves.
In the motion Cllr Hart said some outfitters charge up to £300 for a full set of uniform and sports kit, and urged for an open market for parents to choose their own suppliers.
