Why can't you just wear a uniform? Pretty much every child at school in the UK has to put up with it. It's not that bad.

Ummm, all school in England wear a school uniform unless not said so. I went to public school (posh school paid for by Mummy and Daddy until they got divorced =P) until I was 10 and I wore a skirt and blazer. At normal schools we normally wear shirt, tie (coloured to the school and Head Boy/Girl, Prefect and Mentors etc normally have a different pattern) plain black trousers and the school jumper (sweater I think Americans call it).
All Public schools wear a uniform not just ones in London. When you go to college or sixth form however, (age 17-18) you wear what you want.

Hi. I'm from rome and now i'm moving to London. My parents said that in every school in London it's obligatory to wear the uniform... Is it real? Do you know some schools in the center where you don't wear uniform? it's really important. Thanks!
It's common for all schools in the UK to wear a uniform, and if you go to one of these schools then you must wear the uniform regardless of whether you like it or not.
There are schools that do not have uniforms, particularly private schools or schools for ethnic minorities.
Statistically, if you are going to a state school then you will have to wear a uniform. However, do not believe what you see on TV. A lot of what you see on TV is faked up for US audiences and or is representative only of very expensive private schools.
In reality most children just wear gray or black trousers/skirts with white shirts and colored blazers and ties. This carries on until you are 16, then in many schools you can wear general office clothes such as a shirt and tie of any color that you like.
Almost no schools anywhere in the country will let you wear jeans or sneakers, and if you try to wear fancy designed labels or carry expensive designer purses in school you risk getting beaten up as the British really hate that kind of showing off.
