My mom has this antique school desk, and the company who made it is written on the side. It's called "Silent Giant". It could date back to anywhere from the late 1800's to the late 1920's. It has like a pattend code on the side of it. Is there any way I could find out how old it is, WITHOUT seeing an antique apraiser? If so, let me know.

They are a very odd shape! They also have strange little casters under them. But they are rusted through too. I am hoping to find somewhere that sells both. My Home Depot wasn't able to find anything for me.

My boss paid a free hand artist to paint this antique school desk/chair that she cut holes out of and placed her beloved retrievers' dog dishes in. It says 'Reserved Seating 4 Korona & Kahlua' and is accented with two Milkbone treats. She doesn't like it, so she is painting the chair part black, distressing it and having me paint something else in terracotta (the color of her kitchen). The original quote is cute, but I wanted to see if there was anything out there that is better! I just can't think of anything =( Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

It would be cute if you could paint lunch trays (from school) around the area where the bowls go! You could also paint on names menu items that are generally eaten in schools.

The only fun thing about taking out all the Christmas decorations is bringing back all my collectibles. We finally got my antique school desk back in from the garage this week. Kitty loved it. He hopped right up as if he was ready for school....which is hilarious because Kitty is really dumb! If you every read Tucker's blog you would have gotten to enjoy Tucker's view of Kittys intelligence (or lack there of LOL)
