I am a freshman(boy) at a decent basketball school. I am planning on trying out for my freshman basketball team. Im in high school btw. I am a little overweight without much stamina but I believe to myself that I am a good player. I am pretty good on defense, and mid ranged shooting. I have made a list and there are about 8-10 people that I think will make it over me. Any tips would be greatly appreciated to make the team an actually play.

I am a senior in high school and i play basketball every day. I try to lift 3 times a week and run 2 miles 3 times a week. I am trying everything i can to get better at basketball so i can be a walk on to a d2 college, i even have my own personal trainer. So i need to know which d2 colleges would give me the best chance to be a walk on

There are no basketball schools in the US. If you move to the US, the best bet is to go to a school that has a team and is near one of the top AAU programs. Atlanta Celtics, NY Gauchos, and several Dallas teams come to mind.
well my grandparents live in north carolina and everyone knows that nc has some of the best basketball schools. basketball is my life and is what i intend to do when i grow up. so for my senior year i'm going to move in with my grandparents so that i can get in-state residency. which school do you think has the best basketball program. either; duke, wake forest, or NC state.

duke for sure. you've got nationally recognized coach k, you've got a team thats strong just about every year, how could you go wrong with that? you'd be better off asking whether duke or unc has the better program.
I think I'm getting lazier and lazier by the second, I've lost my speed, my heartbeat returns to normal after a longer time when I run or do sports that involve running, my left hand seems completely useless in basketball, I don't have enough P.E. periods in school.

Last week’s column ended when I touched on the subjects of basketball brawl, bully basketball and basketball in comparing the teams of yesteryear with the teams of today.
I’d like to take a further look at those subjects in relation to Maine high school basketball contact rules and how the rules are not consistently followed in all regions of the state.
Rules 10-6-1, 2, 3 are the contact rules in the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials (IAABO) rulebook, which are followed in Maine high school basketball and which describe what constitutes a personal foul:
— “A player shall not hold, push, charge, trip or impede the progress of an opponent by extending arm(s), shoulder(s), hip(s), or knee(s), or by bending his/her body into other than a normal position, nor use rough tactics.”
— “A player shall not contact an opponent with his/her hand unless such contact is only with the opponent’s hand while it is on the ball and is incidental to an attempt to play the ball.”
