I want to go to beauty school, so bad. The problem is I have 2 nine month old twins. I don't want to leave them in day care all day. How do beauty schools work (schedule) is their online beauty school. Learning how to do hair and makeup. Thanks
I'm going to cosmetology school right now and we have a couple people who are part time students. It may take a little over 13 months to finish depending on the school you choose and how many hours are required for your state, but you only go for a half day so you could try that? Or even to be an estetician (skin and makeup) I think that is like a 5 month program. Something like that.

Has anyone got a degree from an online beauty school, and if so, is it the same as a degree if you go to an actual beauty school. I found some online beauty schools, but I don't know if it will be worth it when it comes to finding a job. I don't know if they will look at it and think its not as good as getting a diploma from a beauty school where you actually go to. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.
I cannot imagine how one could study this area of technical skill online.
This kind of work involves learning how to do things with your hands, understanding the tools, learning how the products work and feel when applied.
The only way I can see to learn this is to actually handle the stuff. Yes, there will be some theory/knowledge you could study on line. But after that, you'll have to apprentice.
Is there a kind of beauty school that teaches everything like: hair, nails, makeup, etc or do they not have those anymore? My mom went to beauty school when she was younger and they taught her all of that.

I'm planning to apply to beauty school to become a hairdresser in half a year. I was wondering, what was your experience like? Is the atmosphere very catty and gossipy, or is that just how the schools are portrayed on tv? Do you have any advice to give me?
I am an esthetician. I got a long with most of the girls because I prefer to keep my life drama free. BUT when you are dealing with that many women that closely on a daily basis, there will be drama. There are also a lot of cliques. And that is how salons are as well. Over all I enjoyed it. I am still friends with my teacher 5 years later.

CHESTER, S.C. For most of her life, Cyndi Rhames has had a recurring dream where she can fly.
The dream has her soaring through the air, looking down into a valley and seeing the beauty of the trees and colors of nature.
That vision can only exist in her sleep, because Rhames, 49, has been totally blind since age 13.
But Sunday, the Spartanburg woman came as close as is humanly possible to the exhilaration of flight - she went skydiving for the first time. Rhames was among a group of workers from the S.C. School for the Deaf and Blind who made jumps at Skydive Carolina in an exercise that was part bonding experience and part life lesson to the students they teach.
The lesson is two-fold: 1) It's important to try new things, even when they're outside your comfort zone, and 2) Don't let your circumstances limit your dreams.
"A disability doesn't have to mean an inability," said Susan Gault, 36, a teacher at the school who blazed the path toward Sunday when she started skydiving a year ago and, by her own admission, "just wouldn't shut up about it."
