can I ski in breckenridge from November 24-28?

Is that a good time to ski? It's my fall break from school

That's a bit early and iffy even for Breck. You may luck out and get an early season storm or two and fantastic conditions or nothing. You really should wait a couple of more weeks if you can or until Christmas break.

Do schools in Colorado have a week in the end of february off from school?

I am from New England and we have a week at the end of february off from school, and i am going out to Breckenridge/ vail to ski. I was wondering if Colorado had a vacation in february.

Not that i know of.Check with the school district

Moving family to steamboat springs colorado Aug. 2011 for one year to ski. Kids will be in 3rd and 5th grade.?

We would like to be on or very close to the mountain, and a year-round pool would be a big sell for our kids. Any suggestions on condo or townhouse complexes?
Is the elementary school very far from the mountain? Can only spend up to $1700 w/ utilities.
We all love to ski. Moving from southern maine- (an hour north of boston)
Thanks for any advice available. Is Steamboat the best for a small town, affordability, ski town experience? I have only been to Breckenridge for a season many years ago. thanks again-

Check these for some listings. Range seems to be $800 to $1500 without utilities. http://fortcollins.craigslist.org/search /apa?query=steamboat&srchType=A

Spring break ski trip help?!?

My best friend, her boyfriend, my boyfriend, and I are all planning on going on a spring break ski trip to Colorado. We are going to be driving since we are seniors in high school and we want to keep it fairly cheap. I was wondering if anyone knew what the best spots in Colorado were? I've heard Breckenridge, Winter Park, Aspen, etc. We don't really need a big party scene just some good skiing and maybe a bit of shopping. Also, if anyone knows of any good travel websites it would be great to know those, too! Thanks in advance! (:

Winter Park has two peaks, one is Winter Park (the touristy, groomed part of the area) and a nearly separate area called Mary Jane. MJ has long bump runs through the woods, lots of locals and it's just a hell of a lot of fun.

Mary Jane (Winter Park) and Breckenridge and Loveland are my favorite areas. Both Breck and MJ get pretty crowded on the weekends, so try to ski during the week.

Aspen and Vail are overrated and lower elevation, to be honest. More of a resort than a ski destination, though Vail is certainly the better of the two. Both very expensive though.

If you're trying to cut costs, Loveland and Arapahoe Basin are both awesome areas, uncrowded and 400 inches of snow a year at Loveland -- but they have no town at the bottom, you'd have to stay in Idaho Springs or Georgetown. You can't really go wrong with Colorado areas.

Breckenridge Ski School '10-'11 Holiday Calendar | Crazy Vector

Breckenridge Ski School ’10-’11 Holiday Calendar

Consistently rated in the top 10 by Ski Magazine, and other leading industry publications, Breckenridge Colorado is one of the world’s premier winter resort destinations. And with annual skier/snowboarder visits consistently in the 1+ million range, chairlift lines can be an issue for some snow sliding guests during the days of peak visitation.

It is during these times of year that the luxury of using the lift access areas set aside for the exclusive use of Breckenridge Ski School customers takes on added value. The dates expected to be particularly busy at the Breckenridge Ski Resort during the 2010-2011 winter season are as follows:

Nov 25, Dec 19-21 and 26-31, Jan 1 and 14-15, Feb 18-24, Mar 13-17 and 20-23, Apr 18-19.

These dates are clustered around national holidays as well as the scheduled winter and spring breaks of colleges and high schools throughout the United States. Therefore, these peak traffic dates can be expected to apply (at least somewhat) to all of the destination ski resorts around the USA, not just those in Summit County Colorado.
