BSM (British School of Motoring) - need legal advise,?

I am sitting my driving test on Thursday. However, I will not be taking it in the car I was learning in. Why ? you ask, well:

1. I felt that the one hour lesson before my test would be enough. However, when I explained this to my instructor he said "if you dont have the lesson you can't have the car". Surely, it should be my choice and not his.

2. I have had a total of 28 two hour lessons (at £50 a time I have spent over £1000) and have stil not been shown complex junctions, major roundabouts, and duel carridgeways.

3. after pressurizing me to book in for my test - about 3 months ago - on my last lesson he went back to the test centre and said to staff that he wanted to "pull the plug on" my "test".

4. I had a mock test which made me nervous to start with (which is normal) but then I was starting to feel intimidated and at one point I wanted to park the car and get out as the guy made me feel about one cm high by all the sarchastic comments he made.

5. During the last month (up to my last lesson) my instructor started to turn up late, and made calls from his phone while i was driving and on one occasion he was arguing down the phone which was very off putting.

generally, i have been done out of a lot of money. I have emailed a complaint. Plus, I have read other complaints about BSM.

I do plan to write a letter to the DSA but do I have enough to sue them? or should i just take it to the national press?

you must make a complaint to the head office....

you can pass your test on thursday believe in yourself

it not as bad as you think it will be

trust yourself and you will do it..then you can rub it in his face that you pass no thanks to him

post your question here

may get better advice

British School of Motoring - BSM Driving School/Lessons on Watchdog

BSM's unrealistic statistics, no tax disc on driving test, WTF? Bullshit School of Motoring! lol

How many lessons do I have to take before I can take my driving test (Uk)?

Im thinking of going with BSM (british school of motoring).

none, but its a good idea to know what your doing before taking it.
I think BSM are expensive, your best bet is to try a local school to see if you get on with the instructor. learnings all about confidence, and you build it quicker with someone your comfortable with.

Good luck

Have you used BSM to learn to drive?

BSM = British School of Motoring.

If so were they any good?

I'm thinking of going with them, I really need to pass my test, I've been a learner for around 14 years!

I haven't but a lot of my frdz used BSM and they said the instructor was good and friendy! its probably the best around, safe choice only disadvantage is they charge slightly more than other driving schools.
If uR flexible, another option is to go for an intensive driving course which will take a few days to complete, rather than a few years : )

What is BSM like to learn with?

BSM = British School of Motoring

I booked lessons and they sent an email saying I can check the progress by logging in but I can't find the hyperlink and they didn't give me a password or username either. :/
Also, the email had the bill-payers name and not mine even though the names were put in the right place when they were booked (basically, the email was sent to me but had the wrong name), is that an issue?

How are they for lessons?

Pretty much all driving instructors are the same nowadays. The only thing that separates them is the price that they charge. I think that you should go with an independent instructor that lives local to you, or by going off the recommendations of your friends/family... one thing's for sure, BSM are very expensive!

question for people who never heard this before want t give thier views?

blackburn council ( asian controled virtually) gave free driving lessons by the british school of motoring for 50 muslim BOYS ONLY, before it was stopped by angry local people,(SORRY GIRLS) because the death rate was higher than other boys the same age in blackburn. racist or what!! blackburn council hang your head in shame!

That was ridiculous.
Their justification for it was that young muslim men don't drink and stuff, so they had more spare cash to spend on cars.
That was supposed to have been why they gave free driving lessons to them. My view is simple, no matter who you are, if you want driving lessons, sodding well pay for them like everyone else. I really don't want to see gangs of kendo's driving about in souped up Subaru Imprezas just because they got free driving lessons. Imagine what that would make other non-muslim young men think ?.
It's just yet another inflammatory thing that is being done to incite hatred against muslims, so that they can turn round and say we're all racist as usual.
The best thing would be to get them all out of the country before they cause real trouble.
Of course we can't say that though, because the do-gooders will be on our backs and we'll be branded racists, fascists etc. Just wait until this gets out of hand and they're on top, because the rate it's going it'll happen sooner rather than later. Then they'll show us, don't you worry, they're far more racist than we'll ever be.

  • British School of Motoring Switch Back to Vauxhall | Motoren

Vauxhall will provide the British School of Motoring with the 1.2 ecoFLEX and 1.4 litre 5 door Corsa for the next few years under the agreement signed by both parties.

The British School of Motoring had previously spent 16 years with Vauxhall before changing to the Fiat 500 in July 2009. At the time, they said that the Corsa “no longer appealed to its core customers, who tend to be young women who wanted to drive a fashionable car”.

There is apparently over 3000 vehicles in the exchange plan.

When the British School of Motoring first announced their tie up with Fiat in 2009, they said the Fiat 500 was chosen for its “manoeuvrability, safety credentials, its low impact on the environment plus its great visibility.”
