My school offers two aprenticeship carpentry jobs, what's the difference?
#865 of 15, 000

I'm thinking of going into carpentry and my school offers a ABC carpenter and a carpenter aprenticeship program. What is the difference between the two?

I may be mistaken but around here ABC are non union apprenticeships and carpenter apprenticeship program are the union guys (Which is a whole lot better)

How can I learn carpentry, interior design,& electric wiring at one school?
Preparing South Sudan for long-awaited returns

I live in Washington DC. I'm 24, female, and i work in engineering. Please help, I need advice making a career change. Is it possible to find a school that offers interior design, carpentry, furniture making, upholstry, in the DC, Southern Maryland, or Northern Virginia? Or how else can i get into this field? Carpentry school? Cabinet making?
Gary Enjoying The Lake - Ashworth College Carpentry Program

I am looking for a college that has a degree or certificate in cabinet making. Does anybody know the best school to attend and gain all the knowledge necessary to come home and start building cabinets and start a business? I don't want a school that just gives you a little course in cabinetry, I want the full on instruction from A to Z. Thanks.

If you check out this guys website, he mentions the school that he attended, I think in N.C.
Sorry I didn't,t have time to find the name of the school.
Excellent website to check out some very cool woodworking projects.

BF trying to decide between Aviation school or carpentry, then industrial construction?
The Team

What could the pros and cons be of one or the other, or both?

If you mean Aviation school such as a professional Pilot the market is small and not well paying to begin with. The Airline industry is constantly cutting back and jobs fluctuate. Now if he wants to be a aircraft mechanic, the jobs are good, money is good, especially with big companies. The construction business is always good but can fluctuate with seasons and trends.

Where can I go to school for carpentry and find an apprenticeship in NJ?

  • A lot going on at the Morris County technology school

Students in the new kitchen were cleaning, tasting soup and preparing dough while in the rehearsal space dancers, turned and bowed. Tests were being taken, computer graphics manipulated and in the animal lab, Krysta Scimeca, 16, of Lincoln Park was trying to teach a cockatoo to communicate.

But for Dan Pise, a student in the networking, information technology and communications academy, the most important activity students were engaged in was "thinking."

Students are given the opportunity to explore, experiment, question themselves and grow, he said.

Pise, 17, of Lincoln Park with partner Dan Odomirok of Dover won national honors for a video they created that highlighted the academic opportunities at the county vocational school.

He said it is the possibility of entering such national events as the SkillsUSA competition they won is an incentive that is available the county school that helps students set higher goals and seek higher achievement.

Technobabel: Becoming A Carpenter At 40

I am considering part-time enrollment in a local trade school to learn carpentry. It would be entry level and I'm not sure I'd be able to contribute many hours outside of class but the thought of building a house in a large classroom appeals to me. the first step to learning is generally acclimation and this opportunity seems to fit that bill.
