My daughter who is currently in the 8th grade would like to attend this high school. I have done lots of research and found it to be an excellent school. My concern is the tuition. Because we are a family of two, I wonder if and how much financial aid she could get. I make a little over 35,000...but according to the government I make plenty for my family...but according to my bank account I don't :) My question is, if anyone who is currently attending Cathedral and receive financial aid, can you tell me about how much you are responsible for after the aid...I just don't want her to get her hopes up on a school that might be too much of a stretch for my pocketbook. Also, what is your overall opinion about the school and how are "financial aid" kids treated.

Vikings Turn Back the Clock — and Springfield Cathedral | Winthrop ...
It had been 35 years since the Winthrop High hockey team last played Springfield Cathedral. That memorable contest was played in the old Boston Garden for the 1976 State Division I hockey championship, a contest which every Viking hockey fan knows was won by that immortal Winthrop squad.
Although the present day Vikings were not even the proverbial twinkle in anyone’s eyes at that time, they nonetheless played with the same degree of intensity for a full 45 minutes as did that team of almost two generations ago and came away with a 3-2 victory at Springfield Saturday.
“It was a total team effort,” said WHS head coach Dale Dunbar. “It was one of those games where every boy who was on the ice made big plays for us throughout the entire game.”
Joe Scarfo gave Winthrop an early 1-0 lead, with assists going to Nick Clewer and Chris LeBlanc, but Cathedral, which was a Super 8 team last season, knotted matters before the first period ended.
A bang-bang power play goal, on which LeBlanc one-timed it after nifty passes from carfo and Jake Rand, made it 2-1. Clewer made it a 3-1 contest after LeBlanc took a long pass from Dylan Piwinski, rushed down the wing, and slid the puck perfectly over to his teammate, who tapped it past the Cathedral goalie.
