can you give me some names of schools

There are so many schools! In addition to schools that may be close to you, some companies offer schools but you have to agree to work for them for x amount of years. There are also schools that are free if you sign up with one of their sponsoring companies...Driver Solutions is one. There are also some government programs that will help you pay for schooling. I do not recommend signing a contract with a trucking company cause you are stuck until your time is up and if you quit, they make you pay for your schooling. You need to research the schools in your area as well as check with some of the major trucking companies to see what they can offer. Some companies offer to reimburse students for some of their tuition.

I have make sure right answer. So, Do I have taken some CDL test first than go Semi School driver class. Let me know soon you can. I still studies practice more CDL before taken test.

go to school first they will tell you when to go for the cdl permit also start studying at road wars.com will give you 99%of the questions that will be on your test only difference will be the wording on the test you get at the dmv with some questions from your state that will be different from the cdl itself since the cdl is a federal license and you local state will have some added rules for that particular state the school in your state will have the rest of that info in class room for you

Im looking into getting my CDL.I dont want to finance and get locked into a contract or ripped off entirely so I wonder what a PDTI certified school would cost.Found one and its about $3,500.00 with lodging.plus they help you find a job if you qualify and they are hiring.I live in florida but can travel for it.Any suggestions?Please have cost along with your answer or a link.Thanx!

3500.00 is about the average of most schools.It sounds pretty reasonable with the cost of lodging included.I have seen Colleges that have adult courses which truck driving is avaiable run about 7000.00 and thats without lodging.A good thing about the school you are talking about is you eat sleep and drive for about three weeks.THey will have you driving at night,mountain areas if they are close .you will get a lot of practical driving time.Thats why you get the lodging.So you will be avaiable at all times of the day.Plus there is a shortage of drivers right now and the trucking Industry is very involved in these schools to offer a driving job to new graduetes.The starting pay insnt to bad either.My son and I both have Class A licenses but I dont do much driving anymore due to nite blindness,but my son drives a lot and the more time you get under your belt the better the money gets.Having a CDL certification is like having cash in your billfold even if you decide you may want to take a break from driving you can always go back and finding a driving job is much easier then most regulad jobs.And like I said the starting pay is usually much better then most entry level positions.

im trying to find work i grad cdl school and i would like to know if there are any companys hireing students out of south fl as of today thank u

Without experience, it is hard for a new driver to find work especially over the road. The reason is because alot of experienced drivers are out of work right now and companies can get lower insurance rates on experienced drivers.
Most places require a 2 year minimum to sign on.
I would suggest trying to find a local job like dump truck,lumber truck or concrete mixer truck until you can find a better company to sign up with.

If you are dead set on getting on otr, your best bet is going to be a larger national company like swift or usa truck

I attended CDL driving school in NYC last year & I spent $2,300 for a duration of 3 months,the school was not accredited by any college. Can still get a tax break for at least a portion of it?

You will need to consult a tax expert to determine for sure. You may be able to claim it as an unreimbursed employee expense if the training was necessary for employment.

My CPA claims my medical exams as such.
