Can't decide which grad program to do, I'm torn between these two schools. I have been accepted at Boston University's MS computer information science program, and I have also been accepted at The Chicago School's MS I/O Psychology program. I'm torn in my decision, should I follow my brain an attend BU for all the obvious reasons, or follow my heart and pursue a Masters degree in I/O Psy at the Chicago School of Psychology. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
My answer is not academically based. A quick check with either school's placement dept would be more pragmatically beneficial to you. I know nothing of Chicago, it's culture or amenities.
I have lived in various cities for work however: Phoenix, San Diego, Tampa, Honolulu, Burlington VT, Richmond VA, Boston and NYC.
Like I said, I know nothing about Chicago, but after NYC, which is a magical place for a twentysomething with enough money to live on, Boston is a pretty close second. The academic flavor of Boston permeates everything. A couple nights a week, during the school year, you could attend a seminar given by a world renowned scholar, by day you can trace the history of the revolution or sample cuisine from grade one chefs, in between, you could chase any one of the hundred thousand co-eds that populate Boston from August to May. BU is located in the sweet spot for all of this action.
Boston is a funny town, you have ethnic neighborhoods, recent skyscrapers built next to revolution era churches, academics and bars. I never did find a place, outside of the tourist areas, that served baked beans.
I'm a high school soon to be senior and would like to know is the chicago school of professional psychology or IIT school of psychology is a good school for helping me recieve a Psy.D or Ph.d.I want to become a Clinical Psychologist and was wondering can anyone give me any advice on how to become a good psychologist and how to start. What is the best route for me to go?
you need a BA first
My application is under review at the Chicago School, my concern is the lack of student housing, how do students do it if not independently wealthy?
They rent an apartment with several other students. and apply for financial aid./
residing overseas (i.e. not within continental america). if not, do you know/suggest any other accredited reputable school that does provide international students with a %100 distance learning Master of Arts in Industrial & Organizational Psychology with a specialization in Consumer Psychology
To be 100% honest, I would be weary of any correspondence/distance learning institution. So much of psychology is based on interactions between the psychologist and client (including IO and consumer psych).
You'd be better off trying to find a university within your region that offers a similar type of program. I would personally look more favorably on a degree from an overseas reputable institution than a domestic distance learning degree.
Please anyone that's been in any MA or PhD program at any of these three schools. I have to decide by Wed of this week. Help Please.
Place the name of each school separately into your favorite search engine and then add the phrase reviews and ratings. Compare and contrast them.

The Chicago School of Professional Psychology
A nonprofit, accredited institution, The Chicago School is the nation’s oldest and largest graduate school focused exclusively on psychology and related behavioral sciences. As a professional school, our focus is not strictly on research and theory, but on preparing students to become outstanding practitioners, providing direct service to help individuals and organizations thrive.
We prepare our students with superior theoretical and classroom preparation—coupled with an unrivaled range of real-world training experiences; opportunities to build their multicultural and global sophistication; and ongoing personal and professional mentorship from faculty who are active leaders in their fields. Chicago School students graduate with the knowledge and practical skills they need to make an impact in the world and achieve their goals.
The Chicago School was founded in 1979 by a band of psychologists and educators committed to advancing the field and providing professional training in a not-for-profit setting. The school’s road to accreditation began its first academic year. In 1980, The Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA) awarded candidate-for–accreditation-status to The Chicago School, with accreditation first awarded in 1984. The Clinical Psy.D. Department in Chicago was awarded Provisional Accreditation by APA in 1988, and Full Accreditation in 1992, a status that it retains. During the summer of 1979, the school became an Affiliate Member of the National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology (NCSPP). In 1980, the school’s status was raised to Associate Membership; in 1985, The Chicago School was made a Full Member of NCSPP.
