What is the best christian home school curriculum for kids who learn best at their own pace?

Am considering teaching my son next year because of his problems with behavior. Anyone have experience with a self paced, christian based home school curriculum?

Well, really, any curriculum used at home is self-paced. Just because it may be set up specifically to do x pages per day doesn't mean you have to do that.

If you're looking for an all-in-one curriculum, A Beka, Bob Jones and Alpha Omega are all fairly popular. Sonlight is also popular, but structured very differently. It goes through all grade levels.

As a Christian home school mom, I'd like to have a book sale...?

I would like to have a gigantic book sale with all the books donated. They would be mostly Christian in nature and not necessarily confined to just home school books. All of the proceeds would go to a local homeless shelter. However, I know that there would most like be plenty of books left over.

What are some ideas for things I could do with them?

You could swap them on PaperbackSwap.com:

Educational games for christian home school children?

Are there any websites that have fun and educational children games that can be played online? Basically anything that's christian oriented and is both educational and fun for kids of any age to play. In other words, christian educational games for home taught children.

Just about any one of the Duke Nukem series.

For Christians who home school, would you send your children to a good Christian school?

I went to a religious school and received a very good education. Is that not a viable option? Just curious. God Bless.

I homeschooled my girls 'til 6th & 9th grade then put them in a Christian school. I was completely shocked with the immorality that went on there. My children got an education in quite the wrong way. After 4 years of that I put my youngest daughter in public school for her last 2 years. She is a wonderful young lady and on numerous occasions said she felt that public school was much more in order than the Christian school.
I will say that there are many factors involved in that however. Often children that have been in the public school system and got in trouble are put in Christian schools by their parents hoping that the school will straighten them out. NO!!! It will only pollute the Christian school. This is a cancer that unfortunately occurs over and over again. Christian schools are not a place of evangelism they are a place to enforce and maintain godly character that should be being taught and lived at home.
To answer your question I would thoroughly check out the school and not take chances...Pray for God's guidance mostly! Only He knows for sure.

Is there an christian home high school that is from books?

I'm looking for an christian highschool where the teacher sends you the books and you have to send it back to them so they can grade it. I'm looking for an Christian home high school where you don't need a parents supervision and where the teachers send me the test and they grade it.

Here are some possibilities:

Kolbe Academy - http://kolbe.org/ Academically rigorous, Catholic based.
Christian Liberty Academy - http://www.christianlibertyacademy.com/< br /> Morning Star - http://www.themorningstaracademy.org/
St. Marks - http://www.stmarksacademy.net/

None of these is inexpensive, though St. Mark's is probably the most reasonable.

The American School is secular, but has a good reputation. About $2000/yr, I think. http://www.americanschoolofcorr.com/

Going With The Christian Home School Curriculum

For those that want to teach their children about their religious beliefs in a school like setting, there is nothing better then using the christian home school curriculum. If you can afford it, a Christian private school may be the way to go but the costs of something like that can run anywhere from three hundred dollars a month to a few thousand dollars a month.

If you are one of the people who want the same values and orals taught but cannot afford private school there is the option of the christian home school curriculum. Being this is a free home school curriculum, it is a wonder why more and more parents are not opting for the christian home school curriculum. The thing is though that there seems to be an increasing number of families who have to have both parents working outside of the home.

This makes it hard for those who want to give their children the christian home school curriculum because they have to be at work. There is the option of hiring someone to come sit with your children as their tutor so that there can be christian home school curriculum in the home.
