Avoid places like New Horizons and such. They're really not all they're touted as being.
It takes longer, but I'd suggest a local community college that offers AS degrees in various IT fields.

With all due respect there are WAY too many computer school out there.
No wonder why the Information Technology field is overwhelmed, it is because of many NON-accerdited computer school that push out students into the work force with no help in getting into the field other than sending out resumes which the student can do him/herself.

I am switching careers from the Television Industry to IT. I want to immerse myself in learning with qualified instructors. I live in Dallas, TX. New Horizons is around $11,000 and MYCC is $15,000. This is for a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer with Security Specialization program. What other schools are good?
Neither school is any good, and Microsoft should be ashamed of calling its little certificate an "Engineer" Certification.
Go to your local community college and get an AA/AS in some aspect of computer application.
My credit is not real good, but i really want a change in life and this will get me there. And having a co-signer not possible.

If there are parents who would like to pass on their knowledge in this session,please also come to the course as 1:1 work would be of great benefit.
* I have done similar things.The second part is because (in my case) one of my parents was THE Computing Officer for one of the most prestigious Universities in the world...use that knowledge...the parents probably prefer it to teachers !
