I just want to know someone's opinion about the Connecticut School of Broadcasting!!! Is it worth the $10K+ in tuition?
I'll let you know if you give me half of your tuition money.
Best Wishes and Good Luck!
My First School Project
I am looking to go to a broadcasting school within an hour of Durham CT. I could go to Connecticut school of broadcasting, but i saw some negative comments. Is it good? Should I go through with it? What about Lincoln university?
I attended Connecticut School of Broadcasting in 1994, went on to do six years in radio (on air) as a reporter, followed by another six years in television. The school is what you make of it. (In full disclosure, I now Direct a campus in Charlotte, NC). I've seen plenty of talented students without ambition go nowhere, and marginal students with lots of passion do extremely well. If getting a degree to hang on your wall is important, I would recommend a traditional university. But if getting hands on training to help land you an internship and employment in the industry is more important, this school will certainly help you in that direction. As far as the comments on the internet, I would suggest taking a tour of the school yourself to see if those comments hold merit. My experience has been that the schools have more modern equipment than most universities, the administrators are attentive, and the students seem to really enjoy their experience. There will always be a couple people who were unable or unwilling to do what it takes to be successful, and they will take to the internet and make comments blaming others for their lack of success. Hope that was helpful.
Who went there? are they good?. Any info you can give besides the website.
Through the website you can contact a counselor and find out what the view and curriculum consists of to make a decision for yourself.
I have a good "amateur"'s resume for it, given that I have different types of aspects in the industry I've been involved in, but I feel i need a little "oomph" in the right direction.
I don't know if I could afford it though.
I'm not even sure if Dick Robinson runs the school anymore, but decades ago it had a pretty good reputation. Just bear in mind that even with help from the school to get you a job, it may very well be a "low end of the totem pole" position. Good luck, though.
.... about how much did you pay? What was your experience like? Am I better off taking classes at community college? I cant get any idea of costs from their website.
Thanks!

Georgia prepares final water conservation plan : News ...
ALBANY, GA -- Thursdays’ Economic Outlook Program also addressed the issue of water shortages and their effect on local farmers.
The state of Georgia is expected to release its final plan for water conservation very soon.
It will include strategies to help the agriculture industry save water and increase profits.
"The more efficient farmers are with their water, the more money’s in their pocket so certainly there’s not a wanton waste of water on agriculture’s part," said Mark Masters of Albany State University .
The statewide plan will be based on the recommendations of ten regional water councils.
