Can you take the CLA exam if you get a certificate through a correspondence school?
Different pens

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities, 5 years of experience as a File Clerk in a law firm, and I am studying Paralegal studies through Stratford Career Institute (which is a correspondence school (through the mail)).

I know that the NALA has specific requirements for those people who can take the CLA exam.

Would I be able to take the CLA exam after I get my certificate through Stratford?
To the "Star" person, NO, I am NOT talking about becoming a LAWYER. You don't get a Juris Doctor to become a Paralegal. You get a certificate. You don't take the bar exam to become a Paralegal. You take the bar exam to become a lawyer. If you don't know for sure of what I am talking about, then don't answer.
PS:

NALA = National Association of Legal Assistants

CLA = Certified Legal Assistant

CP = Certified Paralegal

No, if this paralegal studies course doesn't award you a Juris Doctor. Why not sign up for a law school course - that can also be done through correspondence school.

Then, you first need to take the First Year Law Student's Examination (FYLSE), also called the "Baby Bar." After you have done that, and passed, you can continue the law school correspondence and then after 4 years, take the California Bar Exam.

How can I find what correspondence school I received credit from in 1990?
Different pens

A company performing a background check on me for employment called me today to tell me I do not have a HS diploma. I graduated in 1990 and had to get an elective credit through a correspondence school. Which I did. They never sent the paperwork to the High School. I have no clue who I went through back then, but choices were slim. Does anyone have any idea how the heck I can find this info? I will not get this job if I dont have a diploma. I had no clue this even happened and have never had this problem in the past 17 years.

Did you check with your high school to see if they had any information about you attending the school? They could have the name in their file.

How did you find out about the school? Who referred you? Did you call the guidance counselors at the high school? They may know the school if they frequently referred students to that school.

Do you have any paperwork at all with the name of the school?

Are there any good high school correspondence schools out there?

Poetry writing course at a correspondence school?
Back to School Correspondence Cards

I'm interested in a poetry writing course offered in one of those correspondence schools (you know the ones that teach via INTERNET) they award you with a diploma, however I'm not sure whether their degrees are officially recognized or not, when I asked they didn't give a clear answer!

You would be far better off checking out online poetry workshops like The Critical Poet, The Gazebo, Writer's Block and many others. On these sites they have forums for miscellaneous postings, many of which are about writing workshops that are legitimate, reasonably priced, and help people to get published by helping them to develop their writing. Many are available to do the work on the Internet and/or in person. Suggest you stay away from "correspondence courses."
They are dinasaurs, scams or often both. You might also Google the home page for the IBPC (Interboard Poetry Competition) which features information on legitimate workshops for serious writers.

Can you go though penn foster associates program with a Cornerstone christian correspondence school Diploma?
In the School Bus, Mundabullangana Station - 1964

Well I am signing up for a associates degree program at Penn Foster but I need a High School Diploma or GED, I have heard a lot about Cornerstone Christian correspondence school and was wondering if Penn Foster would accept this diploma? Does anyone know? or is there any other online Diploma program were I can get my High School diploma fast that Penn Foster Accepts?

This company is a diploma mill. They aren't a real school. They list accredition from an unrecognized accrediting agency, which basically means the diploma is worthless. In some states, its even illegal to use a diploma from a diploma mill to get a job.

Like I said in a previous question of yours, Penn Foster has their own High School Course thats regionally and nationally accredited by recognized accrediting agencies that are even recognized by the US Dept of Education.
